hi. we just sent our petition a month ago. I thought all was well and good until my fiance asked me how many passport photos we sent for each of us. I actually do not remember! (I am forgetful sometimes >_<) I asked him why. he said he read cases of denial because they only sent one of each (beneficiary and petitioner). so being the nervous me, I searched the Internet for that and everything I read said one passport photo for the beneficiary and for the petitioner. not contented, I searched the forums of VJ. I came across one thread that asked that. and the answers were kinda confusing. some said two, others said one. so now I am very confused. is it really one photo of each or two? please help! we are now very nervous and worried to be denied because of such a simple and stupid mistake as the number of passport photo to be submitted. I know you all understand how the waiting SUCKS. :( thanks in advance!

1 passport picture each for this stage (129F). The beneficiary will need many later for the Medical, Visa, AOS, etc. So if it is convenient go ahead and get 10-12 or so, no need in running around later getting some more taken.

thank you so much for that! me and my fiance are very much relieved. we were already going crazy over that one small and simple thing messing up our petition and making it longer for us to be together.

I stressed over the passport photo thing, too. What we did is get 10 fotos (2x2) on royal blue background and 10 fotos on white background. The fotos are so cheap at the foto studios in the Phils. It seems you end up needing more of them than you think, and she just always took them all with her, so for the petition package, SLMEC, USEM interview, CFO, you will have fotos for all this plus the spare copy of the packet both you and your petitioner should keep on hand for reference. Congratz on filing. Next up, NOA1!

IMPORTANT!

Make TWO copies of the entire package before you send it in. This includes the money orders too. You want to have a perfect replica of the package you are sending in. All Forms that you submit must be originals with original signatures. Supporting Evidence that you submit may be photocopies. Retain ALL original supporting Evidence since the USCIS has the right to check them by issuing an RFE (Request For Evidence). If you receive an RFE, follow the direction exactly, and make two copies of what you sent back. During any future interviews the USCIS may also want to examine the original supporting evidence.

Had you done this you would not be freaking out!

Good Luck

May I suggest, if you're into saving money, taking a digital photo on a white background & using some online FREE service to print them as passport photos. I used www.portraitbooth.com and got 6 passport photos (on a 4x6 page) from the site. It was $0.19 to print at Walgreens, double the price if you want 12 photos.

This sounds like a cool idea. However, when you are in the phils, most everything is dirt cheap, including the OFFICIAL 2x2 pics. The studio where we went had official embassy specifications and directions as how to take the photo, and it was kind of a big deal. The ladies have to wear a collared shirt and have royal blue background for the Phil. passport, and they have everything there, and you KNOW itzallgood and correctly done. But good luck with the DYI immigration pics if you take that route. :star:

And if you need white back ground for any US Pic's they can do that as well.

True. For the immigrating fiance, taking them locally could save some headache. I've gone the do-it-yourself route for all of my (USC) passport photos for this process, as well as for family members about to get a passport, with no issues. But if other countries don't rip you off for passport photos, as they do in the USA, then that's a safer route.
