police certificate question

Hi, I requested a police certificate through my local police department as I know it is something I will need for the K1 visa process but also knew it would be something that would be useful to have to hand anyways like for employemtn reasons or whatever. Anyways alls I was wanting to know is if I actually have the correct paper for that. I applied for them to check to see if I had a Police REcord in the Police National Computer, to do with any prior prosecutions or convictions. I paid the ten pounds fee for this. I have now got a letter verifying that I do indeed have a clean record and they have no information of me on their system. This is a typed letter. It has a blue band at the top and bottom which says National Identification Service Authentic Document. Is this the correct letter of proof needed for part of the K1 visa application process? Does this paperwork have some kind of expiration date on it, as I cannot seem to find one on it. Many thanks for your time,

Its valid for one year from the date on it and yes it is the correct document that you require for K1

KirstyVQT - How long did it take you to get your police record? My fiance just asked for his last week and was told to do it online which he did. He wasn't sure if this was the right way or how long it would take.
