Hi guys!

I came across another topic discussion earlier about whether you need police clearence for BOTH the petitioner AND the benificiary. Is this true? I know that the forgien fianceé (me) needs to provide police certificates to the interview with the embassy. But I was borned in China and lived there until I was 4, do I need to ask them for a police certificate too beside Sweden where I'm currently living and a citizen of? (I do not have a chinese citizenship). And the main question of course, do my fiancé need to provide police clerances too? If yes, does his year in Germany count as living and working there if he was there because he was stationd in Iraq and went to Germany only for medical treatment (he was shot twice)? And when does he have to provide these certificates?

I haven't found any info on that the petitioner needs to provide police clearences..

Thanks guys for any help!

Your US fiance does not have to provide police certificates - only you. You will not have to provide one for China if you last lived there as a 4 year old. You need to provide the police certificates for any places you have lived for more than 6 months since turning 16.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

if you're swedish, than you have to call the police station and ask for the certificate. It is pretty easy only take few days to get it. The American citizen doesnt need it.

yes that's what i've read too, someone claimed the opposite and i just wanted to make sure. Thanks for replying so fast! :star:

Now i'll got to get that I-129F to the USCIS lol!

Unless of course the USC has qualifying crimes under IMBRA\Adam Walsh that are "declared" on the I-129F (quantity and/or type), then the current status or disposition of these issues will be needed
