Hi.

I just started the K-1 visa fiance process recently for my fiance in Vietnam. I have sent in the complete package on 11/13/09. Everything except Affidavit of Support (Form I-134). I did received the NOA1 back on 11/17/09. Still waiting for NOA2 since then. However, I did filled out the application and ready to submit when USCIS request. I have a very stable job that make $70K per year. I have tax return document back 3 years support this. I don't have any asset except for my car, motorcycle. I don't own a mortgage and have less then 10K in my bank.

Am I ok? Will they request me to sent in bank statement? Or will the income tax return is enough.

It's been almost a month since the NOA1. I've check status everyday and said "initial review" stage. Is this normal.

Should I be worried?

Please shed some insight.

Thank You So Much.

~Tommy

Tax transcripts are better than tax returns. I'd plan to redo that I-134 form closer to the interview. Also go to the Viet specific forum for more consulate specific information since this consulate/country can be demanding to get through.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

IIWY, I'd prepare the I-134 when an interview date has been assigned, then make sure SHE has the I-134 on her interview day.

USCIS is NOT going to ask you for the I-134, at all.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

With your stated income you are fine. As baron said, wait until she gets the packet 3 from HCMC to prepare/sign the I-134.

Submit recent pay stubs and the employer letter dated closer to the submission date.

Welcome to the HCMC roller coaster. There are many going through HCMC in the Asia:East & Pacific regional forum. Do some reading there to get some consualte specific info.

:) Beside the I-134, I would gather other documents to accompany it: tax transcripts (3 years), employment letter, and pay stubs. It would take some time to get these completed, so prepare now. It'd cost you a trip anyway, so make 2 original copy of I-134, 2 orignal employment letters, the rest you can photocopy them. Create 2 sets of document, send 1 set to vietnam, save the original set as a back up.

Good luck and enjoy this experience.

Thanks and Regards,

Anthony

The I-134 will not be needed until the interview. I submitted the I-134 along with the past 2 years tax records (1040 and 1040 Schedule A), letter of employment, pay stubs and bank statements for past 6 months. I should have also included W-2's but didnt (shame on me I forgot them). Turned out the CO took the I-134 and a few pay stubs, didnt even look at the bank statements or the letter of employment (My salary range is 50-60k). We got pink today!
