Here is a novel idea, don't listen to anybody here telling you not to cancel. Just cancel the k1 and then file a cr1. This way you can wait for 12,18 or 24 months for approval! Seriously though, the AP is needed to protect us USC's, I personally am happy they do this automatically with almost every MENA country.

Excuse me? Comments like these ARE NOT HELPFUL. Unless you have something that is going to be productive to say to the OP, don't post.

Karima - Good luck with everything. I hope you do not have a long AP and are able to get your husband home soon.

Excuse me? No one cares what you might "think" (and I use the verb lightly). Your comment is completely offensive and not allowed in the upper forums. Read the TOS and if you have nothing to add as immigration advise, refrain from posting in the upper fora. Reported.

Do you xxxing think I care? I responded and agreed with others were saying about not canceling the K1. I said it in a maner that maybe they would see the folly of switching from k1 to cr1 and the possible time lost. You can report me all you want I wont lost any sleep over it.

I don't think it was your response about switching to a CR1 that was an issue. I'm sure you know that as well.

The fact remains you are behaving like a racist #######. And that is just not cool. Hell, people sure have opinions about the PI, but have the decency to shut up.

Racist and derogatory comments are not acceptable - please keep such comments to yourself and do not post them here. VJ is a multi-cultural site and such comments insult our members.

Please return to the OP's topic and do not continue to derail this thread.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Also,

duplicate thread from K-1 forum moved to CR-1 forum and merged with existing thread so all responses are in the same place. It isn't necessary to open more than one thread on the same topic.

Thanks for the clarification. I was looking for the other thread and found this. Thought I was losing it.

Not one time did I make any racist remark. I am as far from being racist as you can be, but the fact does remain that the US goverment puts MENA countries in AP and for that I AM HAPPY!

Disparaging comments that identify a specific culture or race, even if it is a statement of personal opinion, is considered a racist comment. Others see it as so even if you do not. Please do not repeat such comments, especially as they add nothing useful to this discussion.

Wait until they tell you that your paper is being sent back to USCIS, and don't cancel your K1. Go and get married file a CR1 and let them know that you had file a K1. Send in a copy of the receipt from your K1 because you are not hiding anything, but you won't cancel it because that will mean you agread with what the CO had to say. Let them cancel it. I never cancel mine and my CR1 went through with everything within 4mos and my hubby home. Most people will tell you to speak with a popular Attorney on this site and some other ones. But let me warn you had i listen to him my husband would not be home with me to this day. So if you like Private message me.

You are so right you don't have to sit around and wait because i went and married my husband 2wks after they sent back our denile letter.

Im just worried at how long it will take for them to respond to this. Approve it or deny it but dang it do something. I have heard ppl waiting months to years to get an answer and never getting out of AP. I thought of sending a letter with my cancelation of the k1 stating why I am canceling it. That we do not want to wait to get married, that we do 'not' agree with the interview that he had, etc etc. I know Im getting ahead of things, its only been a week since the interview. But I cant finction like this everyday not having a plan. If I dont have a plan, I just cant get up in the morning. But sitting around like this every day waiting on them will kill me.

Have you emailed the consulate in Morocco? They generally respond pretty quickly.

Did they give him a paper saying he was denied? Or in AP?

With all due respect, you're being a little dramatic - you survived before you met your fiance.

You can't wake up in the morning if you don't have a plan related to your fiance? Don't you

have a child? How about your plan is that you wake up and be the best parent you can be; be

an adult and realize that everything happens for a reason. You will be together when the time

is right for you to be together. It absolutely sucks to wait on them, but it takes a boatload

of maturity and patience to make a marriage work under the best circumstances. How about

your plan could also be to practice maturity and patience as a way to get yourself ready for a marriage

with inherent difficulties.

You don't even know the outcome of the current application. How about the plan is that you figure out the

status of this application before you start another?

I've seen other people ask about how your child feels about the possibility of either you or you and your child

moving to Morocco, but you've never addressed it.

Karima,

I honestly think you should chill and be more patient. Most all of us MENA peeps had to go thru AP/AR and wait for our fiance or spouses. You should take your child and visit Morocco if its taking awhile but definitely not cancel a K1. What happens if you marry and file CR1, and get denied for whatever the reason. And besides that, either way you are going to have a AP... they ARE going to do background checks and whatever else it is that they do for AP. Everything takes time and stopping what you just started is going to take alot longer IMO.

So, to say it again... its my opinion you chill and be patient, and if your still waiting by March, take your child and go visit Morocco and your fiance for alittle while. Every day waiting is a day closer to the end. Its going to be A.L.R.I.G.H.T.

It appears that there seems to be sooooooo much concern about my child. First I would like to express "what the f is my child any concern to any of you out there???" Have I asked advice about her?? Anything at all? So why do people here feel the need to 'attempt' to bring her into a conversation? But.... since everyone here is delilghted to know about her situation, well let me tell you people... and hopefully it will put your concerns about her at ease., NO! I not moving her to morocco... NO! she will not attend highschool there and leave her friends behind. OHHHH?? WHYYY? You ask? Bc she doesnt even live with me. She is almost through highschool and lives with her father in another state? She wanted to live with him so she did not have to be far from her friends so we "share" custody. No? Does everyone out there in vj land feel soo much better about my child custody and the welfare of my child situation? Well, good... hope it helped. I never responded to anyones questions about her bc this is the the Maury Povich show and its no ones business unless I make it your business.

Now... One the other parts that show some concern. Dont twist my words. I stated it hard to get up in the morning without a plan. I did not say I was comatosed ok? I (we) are trying to make a plan together, we are trying out our options... seeing what can be done and what cant be done. Thats why Im asking questions? Is that ok? I could have swore that was what vj was for? So no things didnt turn out as expected in the interview. No I did not expect it to go shitty.... I knew there was a posibility of AP of course but did not expect it to be a crappy interview. Ok? So in the event we did not want to wait AP out we are lining up our options. There is not harm in that. And only a stupid person would not ASK questions.

Yeah the process does take patience... and damed maybe some of you have forgotten how hard it is to be away from the people you love. Try,... thing...if you can... what it felt like. Everyone has moments of weakness. And damit Im entitled to mine.

Hense in the meantime of everyone wondering about the welfare of my child, and my so called inmaturlity, we have decided it would be better to try to be patient as long as we can and wait. Soo... have we cleared things up for everyone? Does everyone feel better about know about my child? Can I offer any other tidbits of my life???

Next?

We have already decided to be patient and wait this out. No, Im not planning on taking my child to Morocco for a visit. She doesnt even live with me.

Karima, Adam interviewed in Egypt which of course is slightly different however. From the time of his interview which was K3 on May 9th 2007, his AP was about 3 1/2 months, then they asked for a Movement Certificate. (Its not even asked for all MENA/Egyptian guys and hes never even travelled out the country) He was never able to obtain one, even though applying for in in Sept 2007 while I was there with him... 4 months later of trying to obtain that paper and waiting and waiting, on January 1st 2008 he got his visa. It was the pits to wait for him and not know when or what if was going to happen, so thats why I made another trip there to spend 2 more weeks with him (and it just so happend to be his bday) I honestly think waiting did us some good too, bcz sometimes he gets on my last nerve!
