My fiance attended the consulate interview with the consulate in Santiago, Chile on Monday December 7, 2009 at 1:30pm where he was informed that our files will be sent to Haiti because he was not a resident of Chile.

Can we go to Haiti with the approved petition letter for the I-129F and request an Interview?

or

We have come so far...the consulate in Chile is saying that it will take two months for them to send it to Chile! I think it is crazy because it should not take that long to transfer from one consulate to the other!

Do we have to wait for the embassy of Chile to send the documents to Haiti? If we have to wait, please keep in mind that the petition is valid from 9/17/09 to 1/17/09. How long might it take for this petition to be sent to Haiti?

Thank you in advance to all...

Chile will send the file back to NVC which will then send to Haiti.. call NVC and ask them the status...

You have to wait they cant interview you without your files and papers. An approved letter wont help you as they have nothing at haiti yet. chile needs to send it to haiti then haiti needs to review your papers and give you an interview time based on their interview availability times. Embassys can renew petition validity.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

How did this happen? As long as he is a legal resident, he shouldn't have had any problems interviewing there. What reason did they give him ?

OP states that he is not a resident of Chile

Does this mean that Chile will send it to NVC in the USA? or will Chile's consulate send it directly to Haiti? Main question is, does it really take all of this time (2 months) to transfer documents from one place to another? It only took NVC, two weeks to send our file to Chile....

The reason why I am so worried is because I do not want them to send us a date that is too close because the plane tickets are very expensive, if not booked at least a week or so in adavance!

I need to stop all of this worrying and pray to God...

Thank you to all for your help in this matter....
