Hi all - just wanted to happily report that we were approved on May 20th, received the visa on May 26th, entered the US on May 30th, and were married last week on June 8th in Hawaii surrounded by my family and friends. Oh how sweet it is to be together - the blood, sweat, and tears were so worth it!! Wishing you all the best! will be back in a few weeks for AOS, but taking a break for now from immigrationtalk for a while...it's nice to just be husband and wife for a while, ya know? :D

All the best!

congratssss..... more power and godbless..

I am still waiting for my NOA 2 (since Dec 28 without even a touch) and what I am told every time I call is... "You have to wait 6 months from the issue date of the NOA 1 before we can do anything" (when I ask about my case status), or... "You have to wait 3 months from the issue date of the service request before we can do anything" (when I ask about my service request status)

At least Christine has her NOA 2 and you almost have your sweetie with you... You are blessed... We are in limbo... And the not knowing and the stress may be starting to affect our relationship a little.

This sucks!

Thanks Christine... I really am happy that everyone is moving forward with their process... It is just difficult for me to see that and know that my sweetie and I still have such a long way to go.

The only saving grace is that thankfully, my job has me going to down to Brazil pretty frequently and we get to spend some time together when I am there (I am here right now :) ). This has been very difficult on us (short tempers and some arguments), but it is amazing how a few days together can help us "recharge our batteries" and remember why we are doing all of this.

I can't wait until my sweetie and I can spend ALL of our days together... I know it will happen.

Thanks for the good wishes... I will keep you posted.

Dec. 28, 2009... NOA 1

Dec. 31, 2009... Touched

May 12, 2010... Nice guy at the USCIS mercifully sent a Service Request to the VSC to inquire about our petition

May 27, 2010... Received an e-mail stating that the VSC received the Service Request. Unfortunately, the e-mail also states that the processing time for service requests is 3 MONTHS!!

June 28, 2010... Heard from my senator that the USCIS is going to send me a RFE on July 1 asking for a certified copy of my birth certificate. Why do they have to wait until July 1 to ask for this??

July 13, 2010... Received an e-mail from the VSC explaining the delay in processing our petition. Apparently, the USCIS had put on hold all petitions from US citizens born with Puerto Rican birth certificates (like me). On July 1, USCIS headquarters finally gave clearance for these petitions to be processed.

July 26, 2010... Touch

July 27, 2010... Received text message and e-mail stating that our petition was approved on July 26!! We finally received our NOA 2!!

July 31, 2010... NVC received our approved petition

August 2, 2010... Received paper copy of our NOA2

August 4, 2010... Received letter from NVC confirming receipt of our approved petition

August 13, 2010... US embassy in Brazil received the approved petition

August 23, 2010... Missuzu received Packet 3/4

October 19, 2010... Interview... VISA APPROVED!!!

November 4, 2010... Missuzu received her passport with visa

December 27, 2010... POE... Houston, Texas

December 28, 2010... We got married!

Hi,

I am rooting for you. I hope everything works out. I remember at one point I thought I would receive a NOA 2 in two months and my fiancee would be here by March. It didn't happen like that for me. But God is in control . It was a blessing that we didn't get approved so fast because of money, being prepared, court process with her son. Everything was double the cost for me because it is for two people, so the flight will be be double the cost. I will be a miracle to have her here in July. We are thinking August or the worst case scenario September. You could literally still bring your fiancee here before me.

Sorry to hear that... Sounds like the domestic violence offense is what's causing all the red flags and delays in the process. Hope you stay strong through it all..
