It can take some time for the snail mail notice to go out. Our status on the USCIS web-site never did change from in process either. Getting the number from the back of the check might be easiest if you can make it out, but hang in there - the notice will come along.

There is no "noa" number. There is a case number and it will be on the back of the check. You have your delivery confirmation and you can get the case number on the back of the check. The receipt (called an NOA1 on VJ ) will arrive somtime down the road. It is a useless document and is given the priority useless documents deserve. It is a fancy piece of paper to tell you what you already know, they have your case, it is processing and the case number.

The actual delivery of the piece of paper tp your mailbox has absolutely no bearing on the processing of your case.

Your next question will be "but everyone else's timeline syas they got it in two days?" NO, they didn't. They backfilled their timeline with the date on the letter which will usually be the same as the day it was delivered, maybe the next day. You have delivery confirmation? Use that date for your NOA1 date. Close enough for government work.

You have a long way to go, relax.
