another day with nothing :(

my driver license has been expired for months now... i think it is very annoying when they only give you one year!

Aug 2001 - Enter US on B2 visiting visa

July 2002 - Enrolled in school, obtained F1 Visa

Sept 2007 - Married

Nov 2007 - File for GC

Feb 2008 - Interview - approved

Mar 2008 - received 2 year conditional GC.

11/30/2009 - Applied for ROC

12/15/2009 - received NOA, NOA date 12/10/2009

1/15/2010 - FP appointment

1/17/2010 - LUD

4/18/2010 - Previous I765 LUD

I took my husband's passport, marriage certificate and got DL for 10 years... or whatever length they give them out for.... they can't deny you DL since you are legal here.

In Virginia they are very sticky about Drivers Licenses and they would only give me one for 1 year each time, until this last time they gave it to me for the 8 or 9 years. So worth a shot trying if you haven't.

K-1 journey, AOS/EAD and ROC in my timeline

2011 March 31 - Sent off Naturalization pkg overnight to Texas

2011 April 1 - Arrived in Texas at 10:21 am

2011 April 1 - NOA (rec'd via snail mail April 8)

2011 April 7 - Cheque cashed

2011 May 5 - Biometrics (letter rec'd via snail mail April 15)

2011 May 9 - Placed in line for interview scheduling

2011 June 13 - Rec'd yellow letter (no change in status online)

2011 June 23 - Rec'd text that my case has been scheduled for interview

2011 August 1 - Interview (rec'd via snail mail June 27) PASSED

2011 August 3 - Rec'd email that my case has been scheduled for Oath

2011 September 1 - Oath ceremony (rec'd snail mail Aug 5)

2011 September 1 - All done, yeah.

Did you check with your state's DL manual? I had the same problem with my state but in their manual, they indicated that an I-797 (NOA) is accepted.

I took my husband's passport, marriage certificate and got DL for 10 years... or whatever length they give them out for.... they can't deny you DL since you are legal here.

Although you are legal here, but the state sets the rules to what is required as proof of legal presence in the US.

IN New jersey no green card no DL Period. DL expires 90 after status so it gave us 6 months to hope for approval. Well it came for hubby right around 5 1/2 months and the 17 now 18 will hopefully have his card before his DL expires on june 1st.

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

It seems like VSC is picking random applications to review, instead of going forward or backward based on NOA dates. tricky -.-

Anyone else sent / sending off the I-751 this month ?

My conditional gc expired 3/17/10. I filed my 751 earlier by 90 days (or 2 days early) and it was sent back to me so the 751 was eventually accepted on 12/9/10. Had my biometrics done 1/29/10 and still waiting. I hope it gets approved for 10 years.

for a group of people that show terrible organizational skills (and the lack of essential intelligence) it amazes me how they have been strict about such a rule.

When did you mail it again? I guess some of these dates are needed to get you on the list...

so if your GC expired on 3/17/2010 then your 90 day window start 12/17/2009 - how come they accepted it on 12/9/2009? Is there a typo in the dates?

Try another motor vehicles office. When I got my 2 year greencard they gave me a 2 year license with TEMP IMGR STATUS on it. I went to renew it with my about to expire GC + the letter extending it for a year, they didn't care about the letter. They said have a seat we have to call it in, to my surprise they gave me a 4 year license with no TEMP IMGR STATUS.
