Question about medical examination

Hi all! We are FINALLY on the last step of this whole process thank GOD! Hopefully it will go by quickly for us (fingers crossed)... I have a few questions about the medical examination for the interview though...

When we first started this whole process, we were given a set of paperwork and requirements and what not by the local USCIS office. On that we saw that my wife needed a medical exam and paniced. Since she was in America at the time, we thought that we would need to get the medical done here. I just looked into the interview a bit more and saw that the only two places that she can get a medical according to the US embassy in London are in London.

My questions are:

1. Can she use the medical exam that was performed in the US by a civil surgeon for the visa interview?

2. She was not given a chest x-ray at the medical but we do have a sealed envelope with her results, etc that says "To be opened only by the USCIS"

3. If she needs to retake the medical examination, can she only take the chest x-ray in London at a discounted rate? (weird question I know, but we payed almost $500 for this exam!)

Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thank you all so much!

How long ago was that medical exam? If it was over 6 months (some are valid for 1 yr), I would suggest getting another exam done.

Highly unlikely you will get a discounted rate, and if you have to redo the exam, you will have to redo the entire thing.

Nevermind... I paid the $16 and called the Embassy and found out the answer. No matter what, since she is living and applying from the UK, she needs to go to a medical exam in her own country at an approved facility. Maybe this will help someone else in my position.

Thanks again.
