We have communicated through video SKYPE chat for the past 9 months (over an hour each night.) I made copies of our SKYPE chat history for the interview, a long with pictures, and a statement that I lived in China from August 2008 until March of 2009 in the same apartment complex as my fiancee. Since, I lived there, had over 130 pages of SKYPE history, and plenty of pictures, I thought this would be enough. We got a BLUE SLIP at the interview with the correspondence box marked. Here is what the box stated:

Provide as much evidence of correspondence that you can, that demonstrates the development of your relationship, from initial stages until the current date. Examples include letters, remittance slips, e-mail, and chat sessions.

So, my question is this, since we "communicated each night" through video SKYPE I did not send many emails. Has anyone had to explain this issue to the embassy?

What can I do to provide more evidence of our correspondence if SKYPE is our main source of contact?

Do you have anything more convincing from the "initial stages". Banks statements showing you were at the same place at the same time. A letter from your guys's landlord stated you both lived in the same aparment complex?

a letter explaining how you two communicated would be good. did you write an EORL (Evolution of Relationship Letter)?

I wrote a letter but I did not go into to every little detail. I assumed, since I lived there from August 2008 to March of 2009 they would consider it a real relationship (guess that is what I get for my assumption). How detailed was your evolution of relationship letter?

The Embassy is in Guangzhou China and I was working with USAVISANOW but they worthless!!! I asked the lawyer about a co-sponsor and they said it might be a good idea and instructed me to ask for the co-sponsor's 2008 taxes, which I did. At the interview we got a BLUE SLIP and they asked for 3-years "certified" copies from my co-sponsor which takes 60-days to get from the IRS. I qualified without a co-sponsor and when I read this I was very annoyed!!! had I known that their was a chance that I would have been asked for this I would have gotten it a long time ago.

SKYPE has also been my main source of contact. On top of chat history, I've also provided call history. Our interview is at the end of the year, so I'm not sure how helpful it is, but you can see details about exporting Skype video call history here:

http://www.amperordirect.com/pc/r-skype-vo...e-call-log.html

Note that the exporter will error out if you run it during a call. I know that for my history, my chats with my fiancee only got longer on the average. I hope that helps suggest development in the relationship.

Yours ought to be very detailed, since you have not other evidence to "tell your story".

I thought your Blue Slip only wanted more evidence of your relationship. So it asked for more financial also?

IRS tax transcripts DO NOT take 60 days. They can be faxed over to you the same day you call. I had mine mailed and it took three weeks from date of me mailing in the form. You are getting some poor information.

I do not mean to harp but how do Skype logs demonstrate your relationship and especially one where the two of you intend to marry? They do say that you communicate but how is the Consulate going to determine what you talk about? For all they know you could be playing Sedoku? For these international relationships, you two have to go through extra means to "tell the story" of your relationship.

So, my question is this, since we "communicated each night" through video SKYPE I did not send many emails. Has anyone had to explain this issue to the embassy?

You can try in the long letter as mentioned before. Good luck with that. Be prepared to be denied; based on what I've read, the China Consulate can be very demanding in this regard.

What can I do to provide more evidence of our correspondence if SKYPE is our main source of contact?

So more than Skype. Email and talk about your relationship. Also just proving you were in the country is again, not proof of your relationshp, it's only proof you were in the country. Send her some gifts and keep the receipts and have her take of picture of her with the gift. Send her a letter. Send her a birthday card. Call her on the phone and save the phone records. Email some more. And then more emails. Have her write you a letter. Send you a card.

Have her write a long letter describing the relationshp also and send that.

Both of you need to get moving.

The tax forms they are requesting are "CERTIFIED" that is different from a tax transcript and they take 60-days to get (I went to the IRS office).

Right, that is because you sent them a copy of your tax return forms. If you give them the tax transcripts, you can send those quicker and they will actually be a better document.
