Hi all, i have my I-130 and I-129f in processing, have only received both NOA1. I am now thinking of abandoning the K3 and go for the CR-1 which i imagine is far much better than the K3 visa. How do i go about it? what are the procedures and how long can it take up to?

Can i also apply for both the k3 and CR-1 and go for whichever is being granted first? What are your thoughts guys? I am thinking that the immigration are not worth dealing with so i want to be done with them here and nevermore when i am being admitted to the states.

Thanks.

Well, if you submitted them both, you can just wait and see. Most everyone will tell you to just go the CR-1 visa. It will only take a few weeks longer if not real close to the same time. If you want to go CR-1 i have read on here to just ignore the K-3 correspondence. Chances are they will both get approved on the same day anyway. there is really no benefit from using the k3 anymore. It costs more in the end.

Do not pay attention to K3, as easy as that..Let USICS process it though, it doesn't cost you anything.

My plan was to go with which ever got approved first and in my case CR1 is looking to be the quicker route.

If your (wise) choice is the CR1, simply ignore all correspondence related to your I-129F and press forward with the CR1.
