I need some major duas/prayers this weekend please... I called the embassy last night and they said we don't have to wait for the letter since it's questionable whether he'll even get the letter since he's in Afgh. they said to just bring his blue AP letter from the interview day and come one down... he told me what "additional docs" they are needing - 1) all passports (old/expired/current) 2) proof of employment for last 10 yrs, and 3) list of residences for last 10 years... we had answered #2 and #3 on the applications way back when but if they want the answers again, we'll give it to them... I don't know what to make of this... I asked if this should be the last step, he said he wasn't sure but "maybe insha'Allah" - and that if they do give him the visa that he should stick around in ISL for another day to pick it up b/c they understand the long journey involved for people from Afgh... sooooooooooo - the plan is that he's going to get his Paki visa tomorrow, leave for Paki on sunday, and be at the embassy on monday insha'Allah - we've got a "hope for the best and prepare for the worst" mentality at this point so we'll just have to wait and see what happens... insha'Allah insha'Allah insha'Allah :clock:

07-25-06 - Visa issued (15 months after filing including 199 days of AP/AR)

08-03-06 - POE at LAX

08-26-06 - Married

09-02-06 - Social Security Card Arrives

09-29-06 - AOS & EAD off to Chicago via USPS

10-01-06 - Rec'd 9:13 pm // signed for by R. Mercado

10-05-06 - NOA on AOS & EAD (w/ no middle name)

10-06-06 - Checks Cashed

10-11-06 - Inquiry sent through USCIS to add middle name

10-15-06 - touched

10-24-06 - Biometrics Appt.

12-14-06 - Interview - "Approved" Pending FBI Check

01-10-07 - EAD touched

01-13-07 - EAD approved per CRIS email

01-15-07 - EAD touched

01-18-07 - EAD notice mailed out per CRIS email

01-20-07 - EAD rec'd in the mail

01-23-07 - EAD touched again (???)

05-18-07 - AOS touched - email sent saying "interview conducted - case under active review"

06-07-07 - AOS touched and paper rec'd from USCIS stating conditional status granted on 6-6-07

06-11-07 - Welcome to America letter rec'd by mail

*** File for removal of conditions in Spring '09

Daily phonecalls, discover internet chatting w/ video cam - OMG!!!

March 25-April 14, 2006 Noura's 2nd trip to Morocco - formal engagement w/ family

April 24, 2006- mailed in K1 Visa package - TSC

Oct 5, 2006 - Interview SUCCESS

Oct 12, 2006 - Called to pick up visa tomorrow!

Oct. 16, 2006 VISA IN HAND!

Dec. 24, 2006 - Said arrives in NOLA, just in time for the holidaze!

Dec. 31, 2006 - OUR WEDDING!!! Ringing in a New Year as husband & wife!

Jan 8, 2007 - applied for SSN

Jan 15, 2007 - recieved SSN

Feb 6, 2007 - checks cashed for AOS/EAD/AP - YAY!

Feb 8, 2007 - NOA1 on AOS/EAD/AP

Feb 14, 07 - touched EAD/AP

March 8, 07 - Biometrics appt in NOLA

April 17, 07 - AP approved

April 19, 07 - EAD approved

Omid hopefully next week he will have his visa in hand. He will need to stay in town since they do not issue same day anymore. Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers. (F)

06/15/09 - Citizenship interview

07/15/09 - Citizenship ceremony. Alhamdulilah, the US now has another american muslim!

3/24/11 Received 10 year Green Card in the mail - Done. Feels good :-) 'till we do this again for US Citizenship.

12/5/11 mailed packet for Naturalization

12/9/11 was received by USCIS.

4/6/12 received letter for fingerprint appn.

4/23/12 9am fingerprint appointment - done :-)

4/30/12 Recieved Letter for Interview - Sche. 5/31

5/31/12 Interview & Testing

5/31/12 Testing Approved - Waiting for next step

6/21/12 Rcvd email, placed application in the oath sched. que :-)

6/25/12 Rcvd letter - Oath Ceremony is on 7/11/12 @ 9:15am :-)

Thank you all so much for the prayers and well wishes ... insha'Allah this is it... i keep telling myself i'm not going to get my hopes up for fear of a hard crash in the event of another delay or God forbid, a denial this late in the game, but I'd be lying if I said my heart doesn't flutter in excitment and butterflies aren't doing somersaults in my belly at the thought of him calling on Monday to say he heard "congratulations & welcome to the US" :luv:

:bonk: okay back to reality - hope for the best but expect the worse. :clock:

1. I'm not surprised they you don't need the letter for the interveiw - it happened twice already with my husband but he didn't get the visa both times (hate to tell you this, but that's what happened).

2. Hope your SO will get it, inshallah. I'll pray for you as well.

3. Let us know how it went - hope it's good news.
