DHL Confusion

Hello everyone!

I have a question about packet 3 and 4. When I paid a two-way shipment fee at DHL while sending packet 3, I got a paper with a tracking number. The last online status update of shipment was 'Scheduled for Delivery as Agreed' on October 27th. I got an email from the embassy yesterday with our interview date, so now I'm waiting for packet 4.. The embassy and DOS say that packet 4 was sent out today, however DHL says they have nothing under my name... I got two different answers from DHL representatives.. One said that packet 3 is a whole different shipment than packet 4 and it will have a different tracking number... And the other said it does have the same tracking number of packet 3 since I paid two-way shipment and that shipment has to be closed... So which is right?

Thanks in advance!

Aya

Hi Aya

Congrats on the interview date and i hope that everything will go smooth and fast for you .

Well when you go to send the packet 3 you should pay for the packet 3 and for the packet 4 .

Which mean you send the packet 3 with prepaid envelope .

And the 2 envelopes will have the same tracking number .the one that you used it to send them the packet 3 and the one that the embassy used it to send you the packet 4 ''the interview date''.

Good luck and my best wishes for you .

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

I guess I should keep checking with the same tracking number then..

I initially thought we have to pay two-way shipment fees ONLY because the embassy might send packet 3 back in case there are mistakes in the forms or missing out documents.. But you just made it clear now :)

Thank you for being a great help always! :star:

Hi Aya...I second what HotGuy said. I sent in Package 3, prepaid for packet 4.....same tracking number....it says "scheduled for delivery" whilst its waiting to be returned to you...when the embassy sends packet 4...the tracking number starts with something like "departed facility in Cairo".

I also got my interview date by email and confirmation from DOS about 2 days before the packet 4 was sent...so u might start seeing movement on the tracking number soon.

congrats on the interview date :)

6-22-09 - Filed petition at embassy in Cairo

8-12-09 - Contacted DOS for info on petition...found out petition is filed incorrectly...

8-12-09 - Tried contacting embassy with new info...no response for 3 days..

8-15-09 - Made appt to resubmit petition on 8-17

8-17-09 - CO at embassy informed us that correction was made and petition sent to Athens for approval.

8-26-09 - Petition approved by Athens USCIS

8-28-09 - Petition mailed to Cairo by Dipl. Pouch via Washington DC.

9-29-09 - Petition arrive at Cairo....

10-12-09 - Package 3 arrived and also sent back same day...

11-10-09 - Package 4 arrived

12-22-09 - Interview date - APPROVED

12-23-09 - DOS says Visa Issued

12-30-09 - Visa in hand

12-31-09 - Enshallah arrive back home :)

Thanks Raina! :)

What caused most of the confusion is that the tracking number was for duplicate packets and no online updates at all when the packet was out from the embassy.

But I just picked the packet up yesterday. I officially have my interview letter! :)
