Birth Certificate

Hey all,

I went to my local registry office and applied ot get a copy of my original Birth Certificate - long version. Was quite a simple task. Filed out a simple application form, asking for:

Your Full Name

You place of birth (the hospital)

Father's full name

Mothers full name

Mothers maiden surname

Purpose of the request

And that's about it.

Going to pick it up next Wednesday (as that's when I'll next be in town centre). It cost me £7.00 for the long version. If you do need a copy, I suggest you call +44 (0) 845 603 7788; give them your birth town and ask them to provide you with the number of your local registry office. Call your registry office and ask them, when it will be ready and the cost. It should be around about the same price.

I thought I'd pass on the info. I'm sure there is a similar topic to mine out there.

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.

Good good. I just ordered another one, just in case. Hopefully no documents get lost during this whole process. I plan to leave the "copy of the original" in UK and take the "original" with me to the USA.

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.
