My husband had his second interview today and he was denied. The interviewer said that our relationship is for immigration purposes. I dont even understand how someone can judje a relationship in just a few minutes. Can anyone give us advice on what to do about this please. :crying:

did he get a slip for the denial? because if he was denied they will give him a slip saying why and what you can do there is always an appeal or further review if they suspect fraud ( they would normally return your file to USCIS and denied under INA 221G)

Sorry the question must have been misunderstood. MY husband never been to US. The interviewer question was reffering to me. I was born outside the US and came here when I was 13. I am a US citizen. The question was asked to my husband when did I come to he US.

Where were you born ( are you Nigerian ? ) During AP they may have done a " home visit" did his neighbors know you ? If they went there and asked neighbors if they know you and they said no, that might be an issue. There is a user on here that had them do that and his mother won't talk to a stranger so they denied their petition.

Are you both about the same age ?

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

I am really worried about them not returning his passport.

Me too, my husband said he is going back tommorow and ask for it.

the age is the point.but it's a human right to marry who you want even if from mars, that's why they will never deny your husband but they may do some nasty delay in the process.

good luck

They can outright deny his entry to the US. There are a number of things that carry lifetime bans and marrying a US citizen doesn't change that. But at the moment that is not the case. They have refused to issue a visa based on suspected marriage fraud. The petition will end up being returned to USCIS and eventually they will get a NOIR . They need to build up the file to fight that. Right now you should talk to a couple really good immigration attorneys . I like Marc Ellis
