Where is my police certificate?

I mailed off my police certificate application over 2 weeks ago and my cheque had only cleared from my bank account at the begginning of this week but I still havent recieved my certificate yet. Does anyone know how long it takes? I was under the impression it took 5 days or so... And how do you get in contact with them to chase it up, should there be much more of a delay?

Thank you!! :star:

I sent mine off on the 28th October by Special Delivery so it got there on the 29th. I received mine back on the 13th November.

This is the number from their site, For any enquiries relating to Police Certificates please contact ACRO Customer Services on Tel: 0845 60 13 999

Here it what it says about delivery and estimated times;

How long does my Police Certificate take to come back to me?

This can very, and there are a number of factors you may wish to take into account in your planning. Although we offer a 2 day and 10 day service, at different costs to help with your requirements - please note: these are the operational working days that we need to process your application on our systems and does not include weekends or bank holidays or postal time each way.

Example times: For an application posted 1st class to us in the UK on the premium service, please allowed 3 working days from you to us and 3 working days for the return i.e a total of 8 working days until you get your police certificate back. This is if everything goes smoothly and to plan, the postal service is good, with no errors on your application, no Bank Holidays etc. For standard service posted to us 1st Class in the UK it is important to realise that including the weekends and any non-working days, it could take upto 20 days before you receive your police certificate back.

It's probably in the post on the way back to you. :)

Same thing happened to me, it was mailed out almost immediately but, three weeks later, I had heard nothing. So, I called them and the lady on the other end of the phone just sent me out another copy.

I can't believe you had to pay twice.

My fiance emailed them and they emailed back the next day and let him know the exact day it would be mailed out and it was to him 2 days after the date that they gave him. He got it back 2 weeks and 2 days from the day that he mailed it..

Yes I did have to pay again as they could verify that it wasn't their fault and that it got lost in the post, but I didn't have to fill out the form again though as they gave me a ref number to send along with my second payment :P

Lol...I was teh same. I thought damn, did I do anything stupid in Uni whilst on a night out that, may have cause the police to get my name. It's always a relief to get the all clear in black and white, on paper, even though you know you are clear already.

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.
