How long does one have to fill out the Packet 3 forms?

Hi there,

I'm new to the forums but have been using this site as a resource for a number of months now. I tried to search for the answer to my question, but I couldn't really find the info I wanted.

My fiance and I are planning to get married next summer, and we've already received our NOA 2. The US Embassy in London has received our packet from the NSC, and has sent my fiance a letter with a link to a website with the forms he needs to submit (amounting to his Packet 3).

Do you know whether there is a time limit by which the Packet 3 forms need to be submitted to the consulate? I didn't see any info about this on the website, but I'm sure that at some point if you wait long enough your application must enter some sort of inactive status -- which we definitely don't want to hit up against! Would not submitting the forms until January 2010 (the consulate got the application in early November 2009) be a problem? Does anyone have any further info on this?

Thanks!

I do know that once you receive you NOA2 it is good for four months. If for some reason you run into issues at the embassy you can have it extended. If you received your NOA2 in November, you have until March to finish up your visa process. The actual dates should be listed on your NOA2. Good Luck with your visa process!!

Once you've received the visa, which arrives a couple of weeks after the interview, your SO has 6 months to use it to enter the US, too. I'm sure you can go ahead with your P3 and you should run into summer that way. Then you have another 90 days to get married once he enters.
