No I mean they can see whatever updates Cairo makes on your case...so if Cairo schedules your interview or issues your visa....DOS can see this info also...sometimes its faster than waiting for cairo to respond to your email..

Thanks for the offer to help...I think i'm okay though...just have to pass time..LOL. :)

Oh ok.. It still is worth calling them though lol.. Thanks for the info :) Whats the number btw?

And I mean it, if you need any help just drop me a PM :)

Cairo is a funny lot....especially when they're calling u names, messing up your case or losing your paperwork...

Aya...i'm surprised they haven't given u a date yet.... did u call DOS to see if they scheduled it.

No, we haven't. Is that possible for K1?

We are kinda not in a hurry cause the further it is the better cause John and I will get to save up more for our tickets (although we REALLY want a date to look forward to)..

i sent the package 3 at 9/30 then i got my interview at 10/14 then they change the date for 10/22 now i'm on AP cause they asking me in my interview for the devore certificate for my wife which i didnt bring with me so i dhl them it since that they put me in AP so we called the DOS to check the statue the agent said the embassy at this time is so busy it's the most busy time on the year for the embassy in Cairo so i guess thats why they put your interview long time after sent them package 3 , wish all the good luck for you .

Hi All, I am just starting this process. My boyfriend, Sherif, is in Egypt and I am in Hawaii. I am going to Egypt in Jan, and we will be getting engaged!!! What do I need to set in place before I go there? Has anyone here started this with a lawyer or on your own? If with a lawyer any recomendations? When I hear people talk about' We got OUR interview" does this mean I have to go back to Egypt for this? I feel so overwhelmed by all the stories and papers!!!! The police certificate? Not sure what this means..and someone posted it is not available in Egypt..LOL, all the abreveations are like a code I dont know yet!!! Where do I start?? I welcome any advice and especially American- Egypt...I am so glad I have found this site. I really need all of your support!!

Aloha 4 now~

Lori
