I turned in my 129f for my fiancee and thought everything was good, I got a RFE asking for a Divorce decree but as far as I know I gave them the proper documents.

Now here is the kicker, I went to the courthouse and got another decree with all the stamps, dates and signatures on it, I sent it over and low and behold another (2nd) RFE still asking for a DECREE.

Will someone please please please help me, will someone please scan me a copy of their decree, you can blur out all of your personal info but please I dont know what to do at this point and I really am not looking forward to a 3rd RFE.

Please I am very desperate and would like to get this done and over with. I would really really appreciate this and if ever you are in Las Vegas, Dinner is on me.

thank you again.

I don't know if the terminology is different here, but you're certain that it's a decree absolute? Meaning, you are free to marry?

It sounds like you obtained the correct document. Final Decree and Final Judgment to my knowledge are the same thing. I believe its time to get on the phone to the USCIS and get some answers.

I called the USCIS to get a answer and was told that the same story that I need to send a "COPY" of the decree, I told them I did twice and again I was told to send a "COPY" of the decree.....

I understand your frustration with USCIS. I suggest 3 things 1. Send another copy regisered mail, return recipt requested, so they have to sign for it. 2. Do this first maybe, get an infopass appointment at your nearest USCIS field office (below is the link for that) and show them your Decree and see what they can do. 3. Call the US Visa service in Wash. DC @ 202-663-1225 and see if they can help. I wish you good luck.

Here is my delima, I did my divorce in Washington State and I live here in Las Vegas, would it be possible to have a buddy of mine in Washington go to the local court house and get another copy of my divorce decree ? or will I need to do it myself ? isnt a divorce decree public information ? so it should be available for anyone am i right or wrong ? please advise.

You can always assing Power of Attorney to another person, if you trust them and need them to sign documents for you or take care of personal business.

Thanks for the advice but i dont really need a Power of Attorney since all i need is for someone to get me a copy of my decree and since that is public information it makes things easier on my behalf.

Big difference between something being "public" information and being able to get a copy of a legal document... Births and deaths are public information but no county will give you someone else's birth certificate just because you asked for it.... Divorce decrees will be the same way.... I am sure a POA is the only way possible for you to have someone secure this on your behalf

YMMV

I also got a RFE for Divorce decree, but it was spacific, they wanted the document titled "final judgement" that is signed by the judge, as the one I sent was exactly the same, but it was titled "notice of entry of Judgement". The lady at the court house who made me a copy, help to make sure it was the right document.
