Charlaure and Danu, I dont know what causes the stars but you guys should see a doctor...

Chad, I know when I work out very hard and I dont breathe properly, I get dizzy, but not at the start of a workout... unless you run an entire mile in 2...

Regardless, I hope all works well :(

Finally married... and still married... ;)

Yeah it's a migraine, i took some aspiring but that f***r is still here.

I did drink way less water than normal today, and got the aspartam thingy in my coffee (which i never use) and seem to add the "chance" to get a migraine

Well i dont want to change the subject from the farts but i have to say my vent

First day at my new job today (that is not the vent part)

I usually work out in the morning (thank you unemployemnt) but today i had to do it after work. Turned out to be a little later than expected so i wanted to do a shorter work out. Like run 2 miles.

Well 2 min after i started on the treadmill, i started “seeing stars” which means huge headache coming up.

Now the huge headache is here and im pissed. :ranting::ranting:

I don’t know what causes these “stars” and how to prevent them? Anyone?

Maybe lack of water?

They're known as 'auras' that are a common precursor to a migraine. Not all migraine sufferers get them, but most do. Nothing you can do to avoid getting them aside from knowing your migraine trigger.

no problem! Its the only thing that I've found actually works fast and actually works. The migrane is actually gone, not just the pain put aside for an hour or 2 and then comes back just as bad.

Uh oh! is it totally not working at all? Do you hear any clicking or grinding noises from the computer? if you hear clicks or grinding the hard drive is probably completely toast (it means the read heads have dropped onto the discs and scratched them) if not you may be able to take it somewhere to get them to remove it and try to do a backup for you!

I dont get auras but I have heard of them. I get bad migraines (associated with puking for 12 hours) and I'd recommend Maxalt or Zomig. They are the bizness.

Stress & dehydration are definitely possible triggers. Skipping meals too.

I don't get stars.. I do get a slight blue hue to everything I see out of my left eye about an hour before a migraine is triggered.

Happens far too often for my liking.

I used to get killer migraines. After trying everything I could think of I finally went to see a hypnotist. Couldn't hurt, right? Best thing I ever did. It took a few sessions but I have never had another migraine since. Well, maybe one. But that's pretty good over 30 years. :)

That's amazing.

Actually, that reminds me I had acupuncture a few times a week for 3 weeks after quitting my old stressful job and didnt have a migraine for about 5 years after that.

I was going to suggest keeping a migraine journal for people who have frequent migraines.

It is a little tedious but can be worth the trouble if you have odd triggers. Some people get migraines from onions, chocolate, or specific types of wine... it can be a number of things. At least you can try to avoid them once you know what causes the headaches.

I kept a record of my various migraines/eating patterns/other various medical issues from the age of about 13 until 17. My poor excuse for a doctor thought it useless and so in my frustration, I trashed them all. :(

While I couldn't do acupuncture, hypnotism sounds rather interesting. I don't quite know how I feel about the idea of it (not being in control makes me nervous), but I wonder if it'd be worth it to try..

That sucks. There are so many incompetent doctors around unfortunately, and a lot of them would probably think it takes too much of their time. Were you seeing a neurologist? I would say to try to keep a diary for yourself and try to see patterns, but if you have already done it and couldnt find anything, maybe it's not worth the trouble. It could be so many things...

While I couldn't do acupuncture, hypnotism sounds rather interesting. I don't quite know how I feel about the idea of it (not being in control makes me nervous), but I wonder if it'd be worth it to try..

Are you saying you couldnt do acupuncture because of needles? Because I pass out from by seeing needles, have to get vaccines lying down and still feel faint, and Im already dreading my medical which is months away because of the idea of getting blood drawn. ... Yet acupuncture did not bother me.
