how do i make our marriage aknowledged in the phil government?

i want to have my marriage acknowledged in the phil gov't so when the time comes for me to renew my phil passport i can do that with my married name.

Go to the philippine embassy site for san fransico and they have a form for report of marriage abroad. Send it in when you do your passport again along with a copy of your marriage certificate.

I know if you loose your passport you must go to PI Embassy in California in person to get another one, and it takes a few months.

i have the same Q as tallcoolone ..i do need my passport lol since i will be doin some trAvelling after i get my travel document And command sponsorship since hubby's military and stationed in japan

Yes you mail the passport in...so you need to do it when u dont plan on travelling really soon...i think it only takes about 4-6 weeks..might be less (cant remember how long it took for my ex). You can do this all by mail...we did.

oh ok.but i checked the website for the phil embassy in san francisco and they would most likely process pperwork from specific states, im n pennylvania

look up for the philippine embassy closer to you...maybe philidephia or chicago.

Actually i looked and they dont have someone who covers PA..i would call the one in washington DC and see..seems logical to me.

ok thanks for the input guys, already have saved the forms but i guess the whole passport change will wait after i get done with all my much needed travelling

maybe u should try the Philippine consulate in NYC thats where we filed our report of marriage. Be sure to bring all your documents and prepare to spend the day there. you should google their website for more info
