Documents for NOA2

Hi everyone :) I've been reading all morning and still can't find specific answers to my questions, so I'm hoping some of you can help me. I'd like to get as many documents and requirements out of the way as soon as their available to me along the way (as we all do). I've read about James' shortcut and LingChe's as well. Have any of you used either method to speed things up? Compared to other countries, the Philippines immigration process seems to be a much easier road so I wondered if either of these shortcuts were warranted?

As far as documents go, can I get these done now or do they need to be completed after they're requested to insure they are the current forms? I could have her download/go get the forms I'll need from her now if they will still be timely when they're asked for.

I-864

DS-3032

DS-230

NBI and police clearance

I know these topics have been beat to death, but the answers are spread out over acres of text and I can't seem to find a spot where they're all answered. I plan to put her packet together for the interview and overnight it to her so I'm trying to stay ahead of the game.

Thanks everyone!!

hi sir. we got married january 30th of this year. my husband went back to the US, february 4,2009

from then we started gathering all our documents.

I applied for passport,husband downloaded DS230,G325A,I864.

we were so excited that by the time my husband submitted I130 we have all the documents we need. it is advisable to do it ahead of time than to do it the last minute. if youll check our timeline our step with NVC is a bit fast, cause we have all the documents ready before hand :)

happier than ever

Most of the above have a validity between 6-12 months. How about, getting everytying ready now, and then when the the time comes, review them for any changes and then send them out poste haste?

Hello Kevin,

I began the process by filing our I-130 on September 2nd. I suggest you file this ASAP; and then file an I-129 as soon as you get the receipt from USCIS (you have to send a copy of it with your I-129F petition). You will have a few weeks to gather the other documents. The next one you will need is your I-864 and your 1040 and W-2's.

best of luck,

Russell

Thanks everyone! I filed the I-130 and already have a NOA1 (Oct. 29th). I thought the forms were valid for at least 6 months but wasn't sure. Can she go ahead and get her police clearance and NBI done now or do they need to be dated later?

Hi,

Basically, you will deal with a 3032-230-I-864...in that order..the 3032 download from us.gov.org "the website pretty much has every detail" and will be your greatest source of study. as well as for the 230 and the 864. Dowload the forms..fax them off to your lady so she can sign..and she will fax them back. There is bar-coded letters for each process NVC will send on each one. Then you can compile what is needed for each one. The 3032 is simply a choice of agent, probably you? that is the easy one..the 230 more involved..basically need original AND copies of the original docs..1 of each..for nbi..police ..marrige contract..passport size photos.."get a bunch of photos you need for diff times and submissions" and a few other things that are better check listed off from your study of requirements from us.gov.org...otherwise this would take a whole page to list each and every thing...but have your lady start getting those nbi..police..cfo seminar..marrige..baptismal "helps not req"...records..and also photo copies of her passport..she will be using Fed-ex most likely to send you the docs ahead of time, so a complete list once again..is in us.gov.org..you will eventually end up there anyway, so is why I hint at it :) most of it is straight forward..some of the wording a little obscure but basic. Last comes the 864..ez for those with 3 years good earnings and w-2's..harder for others..was a nightmare for me..but I used assests and 1099's..remember to put your case number "the one you will memorize" in the upper right hand corner of EVERY document you submit. Everyone that has gone through this knows it takes time to peruse and decifer what us.gov.org wants from you..but have your lady start gathering docs..welcome to the journey..best of luck

once you find her..never let her go

Also, and anyone tell me if there is an expiration for the CFO seminar? Merlaine attended one (long story) in 2003 and has the certificate still. Will she have to attend it again or is it still valid?

So she has been petitioned before? Make sure you have all documents on this matter,

long story short. No she will need a new CFO after passing interview.

No, she's never been petitioned. She was led along for quite some time by a man who she later discovered was already married to a woman in Manila. He had her attend the seminar in Cebu under the guise of starting the K-1 process. We're already married and have all the documents, CENOMAR, etc., so that part's no worry - no skeletons in the closet. I just wasn't sure if the seminar was a "once you've done it, you've done it for life" kind of deal. You know, like the rabies vaccine ;)

she has to do the seminar again because she has to get the certificate and sticker that goes with it on her recent valid passport.
