My life update---- I was in a car accident! Two cars collided and BOTH spun into me. My poor 2003 Cavalier is in bad shape. :( Neither driver had a drivers license, and the one that was the 'contributing factor' had no insurance. So, now I have to get a rental car and get mine fixed. The entire driver's side is crunched.

I am ok, alhamdulillah, just shaken up. Besides that, nothin much here.

Jackie

Jackie, I'm so glad you're ok. You'll have your car fixed and underway again soon. (F)

Jackie glad to hear that your sore but okay. I am sorry to hear that you had the mishap with the uninsured driver and both without licenses. Your insurance should cover your car if you had full coverage; and then they will sue the driver or drivers to try and recoup the cost from them. Good luck.

JACQUE!! YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE IN CAR ACCIDENTS!!! :hehe:

I'm glad you're ok and hope it all works out with insurance and stuff.

Noor and I are getting ready to go to Oklahoma again from Tuesday, the 25th thru Friday or Sat that week. It's supposed to only be a 5.5 hr drive but with my experience in getting lost everywhere I go....it should take around 8 hours  lol Either way it should be a lot of fun!!

I took my car to the body shop that my insurance recommended. They took pictures and will have the estimate ready in about one week. Then the parts have to be ordered. So it looks like I will be driving around in a crashed car for a few weeks! I have to pay the rental car then my insurance will reimburse me.

The other drivers were ticketed. The one with no headlights that caused the accident was ticketed for no lights, no drivers license and no insurance. The driver that pulled in front of her, was ticketed for no license. She is the girlfriend of a police officer, so for insurance, they put 'pending'. Well guess what,,no insurance.

Basically I will be out $500.00 deductible and have to pay the rental car upfront. What a headache.

Thanks again for your kind words. I am grateful no one was seriously injured alhamdulillah.

Glad to hear you're ok. Don't you just despise the fact that uninsured drivers are able to get on the road ?

I was hit by an uninsured driver in the past. My insurance company went after her in court, suing to recoup their losses, as well as to reimburse me for my deductible ($250.)

I used to get little checks from the account they established for restitution -- in installments of about $35 at a time -- until my deductible was repaid.

I have my insurance with USAA and I'm in Texas, so I understand that things may be different in your case, but it's possible that your insurance company might do the same. Wouldn't hurt to call them and ask.
