I am so nervous because right now I am looking at what I have so I can mail my package this thursday and I have the following:

1. Birth certificate of our UScitizen daughters (my husband is also a UScitizen) one is 2 and half years and the other one is 3 month.

2. Letters from capital one bank that we have a personal account together and a BUSINESS account together for 2008 and 2009

3. letter from whitney about a personal account we used to have in 2007 and 2008 together

4. health insurance certificated with all of us under one policy for the las two years with 3 different insurance comnpanies (we have change companies because of price)

5. Car insurance policy with both of our names in teh same policy for the last 2 years.

6. boarding passes for trips to my country 2 for each of us showing that we have travel together.

7. family pictures (I am using most of the family pictures I used when I was Filing the first form which I don't remember the number because in our interview 2 years ago, the uscis officer didn't even bother to look at the pictures since we had our daughter with us he said that she was all the evidence I needed,

8. Copies of bank statements for 2 years.

9. A printed detail list of verizon for teh last 2 years showing how often we called each other (I don't have my name on the account but I will make a letter statement that my number is the one that appear in the printed list and notarized it.

10. Income taxes filing together for 2007 and 2008.

11. Emails

12. membership of sam's club

13. 3 affidavits

14. Copy of police report because of my stolen green card.

15. and we recently open a life insurance under my husband name which I am the primary beneficiary so I will attached a copy of this.

NOW PLEASE TELL ME: is this good enough??? I REALLY REALLY REALLYYYYY NEED TO GET MY EXTENSION LETTER IN THE NEXT WEEK SO I CAN TRAVEL ASAP!!!!!

PLEASE RESPOND....

Girl, your evidence is pretty impressive. Don't panic :)

But, do you think I will get an answer from them like pretty soon??? next week???? I really need to buy some plane tickets and I have to be 100% sure that I can travel on dec.

The evidence you posted looks pretty extensive - I wouldn't give it too much more thought and as long as you sent the package to the correct address, paid the correct fee, and USCIS got everything - the NOA1 (your extension notice) gets generated pretty much right away.

Sending your package in this coming Thursday (as mentioned in another post ) and even hoping to get a NOA1 by next week is expecting a lot.

Things I don't see in your list:

1. lease docs in both of your names or

2. a deed on a house in both of your names

3. utility bills in both names (gas, electric, cable tv, landline telephone )

Perhaps you already have those, but didn't think to include them?

These 3 'things' prove up a 'shared domicile'.

GOOD LUCK !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I don't mean to hijack the thread but this troubles me. My wife had the house before I ever moved here and we would have had to refinance to get my name on it. It simply isn't going to happen. Also, no utility bills in both our names. We have car title, car insurance, she's the beneficiary on my IRA, we have things like car and furnace repair bills in our names and can get affidavits. Does anyone think we should be ok?

I HATE miles, gallons, pints, words spelled without u's, and all that other jazz...

You can certainly get utilities changed to both names. Or as some folks have done where the utilities only list one name put some in wife's name others in husband's name.

It's not uncommon for the home to be in the name of the USC spouse when the immigrant arrives.

Are you filing CSC? They are relatively fast, NOA1 in my case took like 10 days. VSC is another story.

In our case, the extension letter arrived in 11 days from VSC .

Also, I see where many folks traveling with the extension letter make an Infopass appointment to get their passport stamped as well.

I don't know what it's like where you live but my wife has experienced a lot of grief trying to change names on utility bills. One of them is still in her previous marriage last name. It's not "simple"...at least it hasn't been for her.

No refinance required. Go to the county courthouse, ask the clerk how to do it. It's a type of addendum, the mortgage company can be notified, if you desire, but it's NOTHING to do with the mortgage company.

Sounds tedious and painful. I am sorry, I don't live where you live. I had no issues getting it done, and my wife lives out of the country.

For me, it was a phone call. I know, there are variances all over the place, so I'm not knocking yer experience - but ... Sometimes GRIEF will bring SUCCESS, I've seen it happen !!

If you have time before filing, I would recommend to get the free tax transcripts from the IRS, instead of just copies of your returns, that way USCIS can see a bonafide copy of what the IRS received :)

Good luck!
