Oh man I am so sorry to hear about the AP (F) i would have gotten their names and knowing me i would write a letter to the USEM,NVC,USCIS and anyone else who was involved in this process and let them know of your experience and how this affected your family its just sad that they can do things like this to people and get away with it  I have heard some harsh stories on here about the CO's and thats not fair someone should be responsible for ensuring that everyone receives just treatment at USEM  I can understand if they feel the need to put you in AP thats fine but for them to grill you for 5 hours and then assume that you will not be able to support your wife is just not right, i don't know why they find the need to have people sit there for hours as if they are being held hostage its not right and no one should leave with a blue slip with no reason as to why you got the blue slip they are required to let you know in writing why they are placing you in AP..but everything will work out they kept your passport which is a good sign  and GOOD overcomes all EVIL so don't let them get to you (F)(F) it will all work out for you

Best of luck to you and your wife

And why would you need to know how many people live in kentucky anyways?

LOL ... no idea well i answered him I dont know Sir.

Wise answer because he could've of gotten paronoid. Like who knows the population. The only population that matters to you is your wife and her family. If they ask you a question like that again give him/her the number of people in your wife family and let the CO's know that is the only population you care about.

أنا أعرف أن قلبك مليء بالحزن ، ولكن الفرح سيأتي في وقت قريب . أدعو الله لك وزوجتك أن تحصل على تأشيرة دخول.

Not to dismiss anyone else's rotten experience, but be thankful indeed if you are not interviewing in Ecuador.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I don't even know the population of my state, much less other states and/or countries. That seems a little over the edge to me. But now I am worried, because we were also married at the courthouse, and thus do not have photos of our actual marriage. I believe that both you and I have sufficient evidence to prove the validity of our marriages, but is it really true that not knowing the population of your spouse's state and having everything (including the marriage certificate) except photos of a civil ceremony at the courthouse. Photos of a civil ceremony don't prove or disprove the validity of a marriage, do they?

There is always a way to be honest without being brutal.

you are correct. I really don't know how much more proof we could have had. They actually didn't even ask to see much of what I had taken. I mentioned that I had lots of other proof, but they were not interested in anything, just told me that if they needed more, they would let me know.

I was told by the Embassy that they never ever refuse applicable documentation, so that if the issue at hand was whether your marriage was "bona fide," that the ajudicating officer would never refuse to take any evidence of that. Again, what does a photo of the civil ceremony prove? Obviously the ceremony took place, or you would not have your marriage certificate. Sometimes things around here don't seem to make much sense (in immigration land I mean).

There is always a way to be honest without being brutal.
