Have any of the 'Londoners' got an interview date yet, or are these being posted on another thread?

Right now I'm sat at the docs waiting to get yet another note to clarify my health status for my medical next Wednesday. Damn my

Agreed. Let's get it done, London! Maybe Ricky Gervais works in the embassy and it's just like the Office. That's why it takes them so long to log your darn packets...

Ewan passed his medical with flying colors, and we're waiting until after the Easter weekend to try to figure out who is lying to us about the interview date....

Yes, yes, yes, I am flying tomorrow! These past few days have been full of hectic, stressful but joyful getting everything ready. I am really worried how my puppy will do on such a long flight, but hoping for the best - it is only half a day to survive... anyway, I probably will be more stressed out than him :)

Sad news is that my fiance can't meet us at the airport, as he can't make it back into town until Sunday... so there will be no movie-like airport reunion, but what's three more days, huh? :)

I'll be sure to check in with you guys as soon as we are home safe to share my POE story. Until then, thanks again for everything, hope there will be even more interview dates by then!!!

Megan - I think the consulate will reschedule the interview if they are missing a form... maybe Ewan should call them to clarify??

you are so lucky..wish my embassy could go at that speeed

Keep that pecker up, Naddy.

I go away for one hour only, and return to find there has been EARTHQUAKES (!), the return of heisable (nice!, missed ya, I am still missing H&A) and the announcement that Justar got her NOA2! 133 days, girlfriend, that is NOT funny. Your nerves must be shattered).

We were about to report your missing in action at VSC to Interpol!

So relieved for you. I imagine there is much dancing in the streets of Brazil tonight.

It's raining cats and dogs in Scotland tonight. I am so bored I am watching Muriel's Wedding.

yup am back being under the weather now waiting for my p3

Honey, by my calculations you are at 141 days of waiting...and that is simply awful. If you haven't got it in 10 days, you must get your USC's congressman to put in an enquiry, as you are right up to the 5 month wait. Or, you can call and complain yourself. Keep us posted, we are all here for you, and feeling for you.

I should have contacted my congressman months ago!! Instead I did at the last min. and ended up getting an expedited case, but I was about to be approved anyway (or I would assume so as it had been 4 mos and counting) Question....Now that its expedited....does that help us at all now that the Dublin consulate has it??

Here's the UK interview thread. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/231791-2010-united-kingdom-interview-thread/page__st__750

Tell the SunDrop lady to add you to the list. No we don't have an interview date, London goes sooooo slow! And they will be closed Friday and Monday cos of Easter weekend so that'll backlog them again.

I could be wrong, but I don't think it does. I think it just expediates it out of VSC. Each embassy is different, as we know, some go faster than a bullet train and don't need any expediating! No idea how fast Dublin works.

The VJ page for the embassy in Dublin (Dublin embassy info) says it's about one month between when the consulate receives your file from NVC to the interview date. That's pretty lightening, I reckon.

Also, I think most of us, unfortunately, are going to hit the visa-fee price hike. In the P3 Ewan got from the Embassy, they gave the new price, whereas the post shop (where he has to pay the fee in advance of the interview) told him the old price. So much friggin' conflicting info! I'm imagining he'll pay the old price in advance, and they'll make him pay the difference at the interview. Boo. As if immigrating to the US weren't pricey enough.

Ah well! I hope everyone that gets it has a lovely long weekend!! (we just have a normal one here)

Edit: The links I post only ever come up as text. Advice, anyone?

2nd Edit: Ah, nevermind. Sorted it. Darned confusing computer-boxes.

Are you sure Megan that they will infact make Ewan pay the difference? In my packet 3 checklist ,mumbai mentioned the old price and I hope sincerely, that we do not get affected yet.I mean they take freaking ages to implement the good laws and rules, and this, this passes by like this?? not fair!

And I just have to vent a bit, since Johny boy has not yet found a job,and he is going to get married in july hopefully,we are getting skeptical of the wedding and small reception that we were planning of.I think we might have to scrap all that and settle for a court wedding. That is fine, but you know we all get to wed once(well we would ideally want to),and me being a little sad about this, should not be mistaken for high brow.

But what makes me a little worried is how are we both going to manage after that, had me up for the major part last night, with the result I had a headache all day at work, worse than when I am nursing a hangover.Stupid women worry genes!

I hope something works out!!

Oh, honey! Hugs for you!

I'm not sure they'll make him pay the difference. I surely hope not! I will definitely give you the full report when I know. Getting him on a plane after he gets the visa is already going to cost about $2000, so every penny counts at this point... Maybe it's another one of those things that will vary between consulates, so even if they are rolling out the increase in NZ, I sincerely hope that you will be spared.

I really really hope the wedding plans work out. Would his parents loan him the money to make the wedding happen as you want it to? You're right, it only happens once, and although it won't change how much you love each other, getting married should be something that you can remember fondly and wistfully all the days of your life together. I hope things work out, sweetie. We're pulling for you!

Update: Just rang the DoS again, and they told me that the fee increase has NOT been implemented yet (but they don't know when it will be). Still, it seems that some embassies are charging the new, higher fee. I just don't get it. They're all losers, and I will maintain this position until all of us have visas in hand.

Hello DogHandlet and the rest of Novemberite VSCs, I was in a hiberation mode after a VSC virus infection but thanx to the NOA2 vaccine and we just sent our Packt 3 last Sunday. But suprisingly, the Egyption consular unexplicably DHL back the entire package to my fiance yesterday with NO explanation or whatsoever :whistle::whistle: . We know someone opened the package and stapled everything together, but with no explanation and no note, someone at the consular decided to use our pre-paid DHL package and sent the enitre packge bak to us with NO explanation. I think someone is smoking so much Shuha in there and forgot what to do :bonk::bonk: So we ended up DHLing everything again this morning and hopefully someone will straighten in out for us... :help: Other than we are happy to see the many progresses that are underway and good luck to all family memebers...
