FYI ....when you get your medical results the x-ray person's name is on the sheet that's inside the big x-ray envelope.

Oh really.

Thanks for the info.

I'm still wondering where my closest FedEx is, my mom isn't very happy about it, but it's either that or they drive me back to Toronto.

I haven't been paying attention to this part. What does Sean need to know about Fed Ex before he goes for his medical? Does he need to bring $$ or an envelop or something?

Have a look at http://panelphysicians.com/ if you haven't already. It's handy. It mentions there, as Rhiann also said, that it's $50 to mail out the results if you are unable to pick them up (about 2 business days later). That's just for anywhere in Ontario though.

I'm not sure if you are able to get a tracking number from the Dr's office. I will ask tomorrow if I remember (no promises that early in the morning.. LOL)

So if you have them mailed to you, why do you need to know the nearest Fex Ex location?

$50 seems like highway robbery!

Cause it's couriered by FedEx, from what someone earlier in the thread said. And no one will be home to get it.

They will deliver it to your home address. The $50 is steep but it saves the hassle of a return trip to Toronto.

Yes, but if no-one is home to get it you have to go to the depot to pick it up. Well, you can ask them to redeliver, but if you're not home the second time you have to go to the depot.

I had a little nausea the following day, but two ginger root pills twice that day cleared it up.

I've also had incredible pain in the arm I got the shot in - very heavy feeling, like I was lifting weights for far too long. That hasn't eased up yet (got it last Thurs).

I'm glad that the picture helped you out! Its a wierd position to get in for sure.

For the gardasil shot, the first one made my arm heavy for about 4 days. The 2nd shot I had no side effects at all from.

The courier fee was *only* $40 when I had my medical back in March. I think its so expensive because they send it to you in a pretty big box to fit the giant xray that you don't actually need.

As far as the Gardisil goes, I've received all 3 shots and no side effects here. My arm was a little sore each time and it left a bruise once first time, but that's about it.

Hey, I just wanted to pop in and say it's 8:10 and I'm done my medical and back at the hotel. lol

I don't have much to add other than what's been already said in this and other reviews. So, I didn't want to start a new thread for that.

But definitely recommend trying to get there by 6:30 to be out 'quick'. I was the first one there (arrived around 6:15, about 5 mins before the receptionist arrived to let me in). People really pour in at 7am.

Nothing exciting... no 'lady parts peek' for me, so that was nice. lol Xray lady didn't seem all that crazy. Just listen to what she asks, and realize that she probably gets a lot of people who don't listen to her every day. lol I also arrived before her morning coffee (lol) so gave her a break for that. I recommend just wearing your hair up if it's long.

If I think of anything else to add I will later... right now I have some free brekkie to attend to. :P lol

Wow, you got done faster than I did... they also opened the doors for us after they did for you.

They were missing a person that day apparently, someone had to go to a funeral I had over heard.

aww that sucks :(

oh.. I should add, I actually found blood-work lady to be crankier than X-ray lady. Not sure why. lol Oh well. All in all, it's a painless procedure (except my arm does hurt a bit from the bloodwork being done), and I think it's completely ridiculous that they can't have more of the Dr's offices in Canada allowed to do these exams. It's a pretty small office with narrow hallways, and I ended up in 5 different rooms for everything by the end of it (well, incl the waiting room).

I don't know specifically if I 'passed' or whatever, but they didn't ask me to bring anything else in so I assume it was all fine. I had the $, and my immunizations up to date, and had the letter from Montreal, and all that. So it was pretty straightforward. I have essentially no medical history though (LOL... more or less... no surgeries, no family doctor anymore (he retired, and is back near my hometown anyway), no diagnosis of any issues), so I was a pretty boring case for them. I actually mentioned it to the Dr. and he said 'that's ok we like boring around here'.

Anyways, if anyone wants a more detailed write up let me know, and I'll do one today before I forget everything.

Does anyone know if we're allowed to bring juice or something in with us? I have a tendency of passing out after bloodwork/shots, so I've gotten into the habit of always bringing along orange juice or something along those lines.
