Dear friends,

Please help me with this situation. My wife's I-130 is approved and moved to NVC. I got the NVC emails to pay AOS fee and a copy DS3032 form.

I paid the fee $70 AOS fee online. But unfortunately due to some personal issues I am currently in india and have to be here for at least couple of months.

Do you think I will have any issues with this processing since I am here in India. I brought most of the documents with me while coming to India. I have a friend in US who is checking my mails. I would like to complete this process while I am here in India and bring my wife with me to US if possible.

As per the visajourney guidelines, I see that the beneficiary can email DS3032 form. Are we sending a scanned signed copy of the form as an attachement in the email?

Sorry .. I am panicing .. hope you understand.

thanks in advance

Martin

As long as they have your e-mail to request things and you have all the paperwork, it doesent matter where you mail stuff from... So you should be fine... However, be sure that you retain a domicile in the USA as that is one of the requirements...

Thank you Christeen and Saaheb.

Should my wife put herself as the agent and direct all the NVC communication to India?

thanks again

If you put the USC as the agent, both of you will get e-mails (make sure they have your e-mails)... If you only put the beneficerary, then only she will get them... Since you will be over there with her, no biggie... I never got ANYTHING in the regular mail system from NVC??

You can get some other movement whilst yer in India - but ya gotta be diligent and pay attention.

If you paid the 70 AOS Fee, then you got a chance to sign up for the payment portal.

Pay the AOS fee, and then monitor the payment portal.

When it shows PAID, print the receipt, send the cover letter (with barcode ) with the receipt and the I-864 package IN TO NVC.

Then, check the payment portal again - when the IV fee is available to be paid, pay it online.

In a few days after paying, you'll see it 'paid' - get the receipt and cover letter, send in the DS-230 with the receipt and cover letter, IN to NVC.

Those are the highlights - you might want to review a longish 'how-to' over at http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...he_NVC_ShortCut and make your plan of attack. It doesn't matter WHERE in the world the USC is to mail in this stuff, as long as it gets mailed. Heck - if you left all the stuff with your friend stateside, HE could mail it in on your behalf..

Really, the only issue I feel that you might have - is forgetting to bring your USA bank checkbook with you - the payment is done via electronic check.

If you brought it - hei - life is good !

The good thing about NVC, unlike USCIS, is their "automated system". They do not contact anyone via POSTAL mail unless opted in..everything is via email. Email is the preferred means of communication. You will remain a step ahead, if periodically log into their bill pay system or call their AVR and even talk to customer service to b up-to-date with your status. I've learned so far that the NVC process is straightforward as long as you follow the instructions in LingChi's shortcut...

Hope you have a good journey...Good luck
