Should I get excited??

So our journey has been a rather short one. We married on 7 Sep, filed on 11 Sep and we already have our interview date on 18 Nov. I am military and am leaving the UK on 30 Nov...this is the reason we were able to get everything done so quickly. We have already completed a waiver packet because my husband was convicted of assault 8 years ago. We have the police cert and everything else that needs to be done. I have prepared a lengthy hardship letter and we are prepared to present the waiver packet at the interview when he gets denied (fingers crossed hoping he's not going to).

I was wondering if there was anyone in a similar situation. Because of the circumstances, we have a liaison at the Embassy who we send everything to and they e-mail and place in our case. The guy we are interviewing with at the Embassy already has the police cert and is fully aware of the circumstances. We keep trying to push to see if we can get an answer from him stating whether or not he thinks we will be denied. He only keeps saying, "a decision cannot be reached until the day of the interview." I know this is the standard answer but they have already seen the police cert.

What the spouse and I were thinking is why would they rush to make the interview so quickly if they are planning on denying us? Could this be a sign that they are going to go ahead and approve since a waiver packets for me would be approved anyway due to my active duty status??? The date of the interview would allow for the 5 days after to get the visa () back to us.

Any help or insight would be much appreciated. Again, I already have the waiver packet prepared and my letter has been edited by the wonderful people over on immigrate2us, but we'd like to not go through all that for an approval in the end anyway!

London is a low fraud embassy so you are "likely" to be approved...however.

They will never..EVER...tell you whether you are going to be approved until you have your interview. Expecting them to give you an answer now is like expecting them not to do their job properly.

I'm sure you'll be fine, but nothing is guaranteed until the words come out of the CO's mouth. Speculation and expectation are natural, but dont expect a guarantee until 18th Nov.

The speed of your interview is likely more to do with your active duty (thank you for your sevice by the way) and less to do with the approvability (I just made up that word) of your petition and hardship packet. Go into the interview confident and you should be fine.

But like Ellie_and_David said, London is low fraud so you should be OK.

It means London doesn't typically seen a lot of sham marriage for visa purposes.

Now, if you were going through consulates in Nigeria or Vietnam, that would be different
