And we are approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Easy and way less stressful than montreal!!!

It took 20-25 minutes but it was easy and the only things she asked were our passports, ID, EAD and AP. She asked if i was working or a student

She confirmed the whole I-485 (we went thru every single lines where i had to say yes), she asked me the questions on terrorism, communism, espionage, prostitution, drugs, kidnappings, kids in other countries etc... where i said no. She asked how we met.

She said my I-693 previously sent was fine (not a word or check on total gardisil shots), I-864 approved and then she asked what did we bring to prove our relationship. So we had the lease, car insurance, car title, apartment insurance, bank letter, bank statements, phone stuff, pictures, wedding invitations, wedding cards, new SSN with married names.

We also had new paychecks from co-sponsor. She added them to our HUGE file. She kept the pictures and the proofs of our relationship and then said, "im going to approved your application so i keep the i-94 and AP and EAD. Congratulations you are now permanent resident of the united states."

:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

It was very easy and she was very nice. SHe seems interested and happy to tell me we where approved!!!!!!!

Congratulations!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Congrats!! That's great to hear! I bet you feel so relieved, I can't wait for that feeling in a few weeks!

I have a bottle of bubbly waiting to be popped open when I get my approval, so maybe that makes me a little French too? (Actually my dad was French Canadian, so I guess I am)

They kept your pictures? I really didn't want to go out and get extra copies, but I will now. I don't want them taking my only prints!

Hi Chadlaure,

Congrats on you being approved for the AOS and thanks for sharing that experience about it here on VJ...

Glad that it worked out for the both of you with no problems, and a quick and speedy approval. You should get your green card in the mail in 1-2 weeks or so, so be on the lookout for that too.

Good luck with the rest of your immigration journeys too. And yes, don't forget about the I-751 in 2 years (lol..start gathering and keeping the paperwork now for that).

Congratulations! What a relief eh? Huggles, I brought only one copy of pictures, and actually mentioned they could have them, but the official just photocopied them. If you don't want them having them though, I'd just bring extra copies, just in case.

Thanks guys. I think I'll just print a few of them off from home on my Kodak printer and bring those for them to keep if they want. It sound better than feeling like I need to give them the professional prints! I was just going to bring the photo album for them to look at, but thanks for the tip!

congrats!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
