Well, now I sent the last of the evidence to VN and everything seems to be in order for the interview. My fiance called the consulate and the confirmed they got the packet 3 returns. They said the interview could be in a couple months but no exact date yet.

Anyway, I sent her originals and photocopies of just about every piece of evidence. I was wondering what will she hand in during the interview.. Originals or copies? Do they ever keep anything?

We were also wondering how mnay emails she should print out of mine. She already has a book of all the ones I sent and I also have a 3 inch stack of her's I collected over the years. No doubt it would be an impressive exhibit to show them, but we dont know if we really need them all. What did everyone else do in regards to emails as evidence?

Here's a list of the evidence I remember sending, at the moment:

I-134 form

-letter from bank

-bank statements from 2 banks

-letter from employer

-8 paycheck stubs

-2005 tax return

-2005 w-2's

I-134 backup evidence (in case they ask!)

-Complete banking transactions for the year (what the bank first gave me when I asked for the letter)

-2004 tax returns (low income that year)

-2004 W-2's

-College tuition bills for 2004

-college transcript (just in case they asked for the 2004 tax info, it shows I was a student and why I didnt make as much)

Evidence of trip to Vietnam

-Visa page of passport copy

-check carbon copy of payment to Vietnam Embassy

-Bank info showing I paid for tickets

-all boarding passes

-Trip intinerary and bill

Evidence of relationship

-all our postal letters since 2002

-Emails since 2002

-correspondence with family (my mom, sister etc)

-pictures from all over Vietnam. (we rode a bus from HCMC to hanoi :)

-pics with friends and many family members

-pics from wedding we attended together and other events

-plane tickets together from hanoi back to HCMC

-hotel reciept together

-Many tickets from various parks, museums etc (in pairs of course. Go well with the pics of the places)

-she saved a few calling cards, but we are a little light on the phone records. She calls with those cards or uses her office internet phone. I have a prepaid cell phone, so its a little hard to prove calling records for us

At this time I beleive that is all I sent. BUt its late now so maybe I forgot something..

Well, you've already mentioned postal letters since 2002, so this will really make your E-Mails very not-important. We only printed a dozen of our most favorite E-Mails. But a general rule is there is never too much evidence.

they like to see pictures with the two of you. For our interview i had a scrap book like thing with all our trips and times together but the man doing the interview only wanted to see pictures with both of us in it... not every thing we saw. Ticket stubs from flights are always good, and email records we didn't have phone records either since we also use internet phones... but with daily email evidence that wasn't a problem.

good luck...

Your list looks good! About the telephone calls tol Vietnam, I don't know if anyone who uses the internet to post on this forum (VJ) would use regular phoneline to call VN, even using Calling Card seems so oldschool, VOIP/VoiceChat/Skype/Yahoo!/MSNMessenger are pretty good way to communicate these days? Some VoIP telephone companies will provide you with your calls record. Ask them! To show them you talk everyday, or do talk, with a few calling cards and telling them you use Skype/Yahoo voicechat to talk each night/day would be enough. IMO. If disagree, why?

Thanks,

Hi songsparrow,

I was wondering what will she hand in during the interview.. Originals or copies? Do they ever keep anything?
We had original and photocopies of everything. For our I-134 evidence we turned in photocopies of the tax returns (had an additional photocopy and originals on hand in case it was requested), originals of the tax transcripts (had an additional photocopy on hand in case duplicate was requested), 2 originals for the employment letter, 1 original and 1 photocopy for the bank letters, and the bank statements were downloaded from the bank website, so obviously those looked of photocopied fashion.

Regarding the "relationship evidence" presented during the interview, here we also had a photocopy and original for everything. However, she handed ALL originals to the interviewing officer. It was reviewed and then returned - nothing kept.

What did everyone else do in regards to emails as evidence?
In regards to our email, we also had mounds of email between my fiancee and my family. What we did was select a sample of good ones from the mound and presented those during the interview. However, my fiancee had the rest on hand and let the interviewing officer know that there were more if she was interested in reading them.

Hope this helps you out a little bit!

Just for fun...if you have the time...you should give your timeline a shot as your signature! It is nice to watch peoples progress from their posts and not have to click that timeline link!

1. Go to "My Controls" on the right side under the VisaJourney banner.

2. Click "Edit Signature" under the "Personal Profile" section on the left of this page.

3. You'll see the box to enter your text, looks similar to writing for a post.

4. Pick a format (plenty of us to steal from) and enter your information!

We furnished everything we had, based on the fact they asked for EVERYTHING. She had with her also all of the original things, such as several post mailed letters to and from each other.

With most calling cards, even the ones you buy online, you can call their customer service phone number and they will fax to you the call records for all of the calls. (At least I was able to get them). And this will show numbers of to and from what phone.

Best wishes and good luck.
