Hey All

I am brand new to this whole thing. My girlfriend (US Citizen) has considered for a long time to make something of it and get married. Because of the strict immigration rules in Denmark the best option is to move to the US. So i was wondering what is the best to file I-130 or DS-230? Or can we even do that?

Thanks in advance.

Mathies

Read the guides. The Ds-230 is not a petition. right now your options are the I-129F (the fiance visa) or the I-130 (the spousal visa)

Good luck.

Your best bet is to read the Guides here on this site and see what your options are. Currently, since you're engaged, not married, your option is for your fiancee to file the I-129F petition with USCIS, wait for it to be approved, then eventually you will have an interview for a K-1 fiancee visa. Once approved, you will have a visa which allows you to come to the US for the express purpose to get married and file for Adjustment of Status to receive your green-card. Please, read the multitude of information available here:

good luck!
