My understanding is that if you call the Embassy from the Phils, that it must be on a "post paid" phone acct, meaning one that is paid after services are rendered, and not pre-loaded. THe USEM then bills that acct for the fee. I think a phone card is also considered pre-loaded. THis is why the Kano usually makes the appt from the US, for his Pinay. I just made one for my girl the other day and the USEM is currently booking appts to Dec 23. Good luck.

Someone else said that they called multiple times on one PIN....

I am certain it says 3X somewhere... Or maybe 3X is just a VJ urban myth?

Yes! And I debated whether or not I would get a better deal using the .98 cents/min option, but something tells me I would not. WIth my luck, there would be a rush of callers ahead of me, and I would be on hold for 20 min. Or the operator would see me paying by the min, and intentionally be slow or put me on hold ANyways, I guess I go for the sure thing of a fixed rate. ANd at least I have one more call if i need it. in my case the embassy delayed getting us in the system.. for about 2 weeks... so I used my pin number every day sometimes 2x per day for 2 weeks my guess i used it 20 times no problem.....

Incorrect! you cannot use any prepaid cards to call USEM.you need to use either pldt or smart postpaid phone or go to pldt business centers.
