Well.. I just got notification that NVC is sending my lady's papers to her Embassy. All good.. except.. I have been laid off since March. I am getting UI and doing a little bit of side work here and there.. plenty of $$$ in the bank..

So.. what ideas do you guys have? I never expected to be laid off this long.

Hello ,

I was or i should say i am in the same situation... i petioned for my husband and have been unemployed since early year too! at my husband's interview everything was fine except for the fact that i was without a job, so the officer requested for us to get a joint sponsor!!

Something that NVC didn't even bothered to ask for even send request for evidence or nothing...They just sent the paperwork to my husband's embassy...

So if you are still unemployed by the time your wife gets interview they might ask for a joint sponsor ...

:-)

OK so I asked my Mom to co-sponsor and she agreed so that is fixed.

On to the next question..

My lady got her papers from the embassy already. Not that we are complaining but it was less than two weeks from NOA2 until she got her package. All good I guess.. funny how too fast can make for nerves also!

So, I was poking around.. I thought the visa fee was $131 but then I found this http://travel.state.gov/pdf/medical/MOS-ME...L-0001-0910.pdf which stated the cost is $400! So.. which one is correct? I just want to have it straight how much $$$ I need on hand.

One last question folks.. for now anyway.. if we need to amend her interview date can I call for her, or, does she need to make the call? Right now she is in Moscow.. she needs to go to Tomsk and get her package and her police report.. obviously there is a time concern.. so, can I call for her or does she need to call?

The fee is $131 for K-1. $400 is for CR1/IR1 visa applicants.

According to the website of the US embassy Moscow, the applicant should contact the embassy for interview rescheduling.
