NVC to Interview

I apologize if this has been asked recently, but does anyone know the average time it's taking for interviews in Montreal after the case has been completed at NVC? I just remember reading that MOntreal is very slow right now. I've tried to read timelines and see everything from 2 or 3 months to much, much longer! My case will hopefully be complete at NVC in November, and I'm scared I won't have an interview until April or May or later.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Blitz...

This happens to be the hot, burning question of the moment. Awhile back it was taking about 90 days from completion at NVC to interview date NOW? Well, there are still some people from June that don't have an interview yet. There are exceptions of course but all in all that seems to be the case. keep in mind... these times fluctuate and are not consistent. Unfortunately, the Montreal consulate is one of the slowest there is.

LEt's call it best case scenario, between 80 and 90 days from your date of completion. So... if you finish in November maybe February or March? There is still a ton of us now who've finished in June, July, August that have not yet received a date of interview. And we are just on this site, no idea what the numbers might be outside of here.

So, after all that rambling, all I have for you is conjecture but don't plan on anything, don't quit your job or give up your place until you know that you for sure have a date and even then... until you've been approved.

Hope this is a little helpful. The waiting sucks a lot but we'll all be done soon enough.

Good luck blitz and do us a fave? Fill in your timeline? It really helps people to help you and figure out where they sit in this waiting game.

Check out this thread too -- it'll help you figure out an approximate timeline for yourself.

What lgg said is true. We have been waiting since July. Montreal is stonewalling with no information. Everyone's time lines help figure out what is going on.

Welcome aboard the boat.

Thanks Igg and Becky07.... Oh my, I'm shocked it's taking so long! Jeepers! I wonder if the K-3 is indeed the fastest route now? But I suppose once you abandon the K-3 (and the I-129F expires), you can't go back anyhow, eh?

I will fill out my timeline right now, if I can figure out how. ;) I was approved for my I-130 back in May, but I put things on hold for about 5 months when I found out I was pregnant (want to have baby in Canada and worried I'd lose my Alberta Health Care if I got my greencard), and now I'm totally kicking myself b/c I should've just stuck with it! Ugh.

Well, that's a toss up, having a baby in the US ain't cheap if you don't have good coverage and now? It is what it is. I would NOT advise going the K3 route - an obsolete visa and way more expensive. It won't take too much longer at all to get a CR1 and it's a far superior/less expensive visa....

yeah, it's a bummer waiting around like this but, it'll happen.

I'll say it again, don't bother with a K3, it wont' be much difference timewise. best of luck and keep us posted.

Oh for your timeline, click on My Assistant link, t hat should take you where you want to go.

Ciao...
