Yup, mine's in the fridge.

I'm kind of surprised they let people walk away with that pointy thing, but I think they know most of us dont want to do it ourselves.

Be prepared to spend almost 170 to 180 depending on where you go.

Try walmart if you can before anyone if you have to just straight out buy it without insurance.

There's a pointy thing sitting in my fridge right now?

I was too scared to look in the Rx bag, haha.

Yeah, I opened the box and inside a plastic case there's the syringe and the needle has to be attached to it by the doctor.

There isnt much liquid either, which is nice.

okay but i tought medisys could do it... im so confuse and i dont really have time to go see my doc about it cause anyway she dont do vaccine...

im sure i can pay extra $ to have it done at medisys... i dont really care for the price if its less than 40$ to save...

Process took us 1 year and 5 month from I-129F to Green Card

Got my medical done today at Medisys in Montreal. They were really professional and efficient. The doctor was really friendly. His name was Dr.Pigeon and he even joked that he looked like a bird! Too funny!

I'm so impatient about getting the visa... my birthday is November 27th and I really want to be in the US for that day.

It'd be the first time in our 6 years that we could actually celebrate it.

I blame US Thanksgiving and Black Friday for that

I'd like to think that from the 13-27th, you'd have enough time to get the visa! I would 'hope' that Montreal would send it out by then.. and Black Friday/Thanksgiving makes no difference on Canada Post's schedule. Might make flying an interesting experience around that time though.

Id like to be there by Thanksgiving as well :( My interview is on the 16th so it's cutting it close. Most importantly, I just wanna hear "approved". I can wait an extra day or 2 for the actual visa. I haven't even started packing or getting my stuff together yet b/c I don't wanna jinx myself. Im sure I'll have enough time to pack while waiting for the Visa in the mail :)

Hello people esp the Nov 13 folks!

We are staying in the Hotel Les Suites Labelle from Thursday to Sunday. Its 80 CAD a night, not too horrible reviews in Trip Advisor and had pretty decent reviews in Expedia. Its an 18 minute walk, according to google maps :P But its ok, me and the hunny are walkers anyway.

I too am hoping for a fast visa return. Im going to pour over the timelines tomorrow and see which applications took the longest. Perhaps there were real problems... maybe. The average seems to be 3 business days or so.

Finally married... and still married... ;)

A couple of posts were removed at the request of the person who posted them. I have returned another post which quoted the removed posts below.

My fiance's cousin was dating an international student and when her visa neared expiration, married her. They walked in the court house back in July, filed her AOS in mid-October and she got her conditional green card in January. Their interview for the green card was 5 minutes long and the officer barely looked at their paperwork. So every time he asks me "what's going on with our case", I just want to burst in tears.

This is not to say that they dont love each other, because they do. And it took a lot of courage for her to marry him because her family was threatening to disown her if she married "outside" her race.

Anyway it never occurred for us to marry without the right paperwork. I think at times my fiance will mention that it would maybe be a bit easier because at least we're together (until I get deported anyway  ). But yeah, SIGH.

Good to know about little liquid... I had this terrifying idea in mind that it was some massive syringe and 00 needle, haha.

I'm getting mine tomorrow too. Soooo not looking forward to it. Especially the fact that it's sitting in the fridge... I can't imagine how cold liquid being shot into my arm is going to feel.

By the time you get to the doctors office, it'll have warmed up a bit.

Just a warning tho, I got my second shot a couple of months ago and it left a bruise. The nurse says she hates the syringes they use, they aren't very practical or something.

I was reading Simistars review under Embassy Reviews. It annoys me how the ppl working there really dont care about anything you have to say. It's not personable at all. Seems like they are not interested in hearing explanations if there is problem with paper work, missing paper work etc. If they are spending like 10 minutes on each "interview", I dont see a reason to be backlogged.

The pharmacist told me to take it out about 30 minutes before your appointment.

It hurts less if the liquid is room temperature.

Anybody ask WHY it has to be in the fridge to begin with?

Probably so it doesn't go bad. That's my assumption, there must be something in it that needs to be cold. I don't mind, less preservatives that way.

Vaccine loses efficacy when it warms up. It needs to be kept sterile and cold until delivery.

You DONT have to buy the vaccine on your own -- especially if youre in downtown Toronto. You can get the shots from local clinics (Planned Parenthood offers it for 150) and University clinics.

I had mine done for 150 a shot and they had the vaccine.
