VSC unbearably slow

I'm one of those people with a reason to complain. Long story, but received petition, but a "lost" money order, three I-751 packages later, here I sit....waiting. However, OP has every right to complain! We pay the same fees for the same service. We should be receiving the same level of service at ALL the service centers.

mrs whizz you right, we pay the same money as people who file via CSC. I really don't care if anyone else will sit and twiddle their thumb after they file their application. Again, it's my right to express how i feel about MY CASE! so Mike and whoever, defend the VSC all you want but dont you dare tell me how to feel! It's my life, my time and my money. Move on to the next topic cause you aint gonna change how I feel.

Oh fine, lets take people away from CSC and make them slower.

Let me guess, you're a CSCer? If that's what it takes to even things out, then yes. I've been doing this process for over 14 MONTHS, not to mention I'm out $545 they cannot seem to find! Absurd to sit and watch CSC do approvals in less than 2 months.

I am not defending VSC, and I am not trying to change the way you feel either. But like the others have said, everyone waits at some point, would you rather wait at this point or the initial K1? I am in VSC as well and I have changed adresses as well, so what, it's only been a few months since the application was sent! Wait a little longer, average of 6 months, check your status on the web and resubmit your AR11. There nothing anyone can do, and once again, I am not defending VSC or trying to tell you how to feel, it's just the way the system works, and at this point CSC works much faster then VSC, which was reversed a few years and that's a Fact.

To Mrswhizz: Have you already applied for citizenship, since its been 14 months waiting for I751?

Mike.

We are planning a move back to UK before our son (not yet born) is school age. So, no.

I would still consider it. If you ever want to come back here for any reason, no worries about having to get yourself another visa (by then, your perm resident status would have surely been rescinded). You can come and go as you please.

The "14 month in this process", is a bit misleading, since you have reapplied again last month, due to loss or incorrect filing fee, you have at least 5-6 months of wait time. Would still suggest filing for citizenship and joining the September VSC I751 forum.

I think that the I-751s have always been a 'low' priority application to be processed frankly, I don't know if it takes more skill/experience/expert eyes than some of the other apps, and doesn't lend itself to automation in any way. The discrepancy between CSC and VSC is large and has been for the years that I've frequented VJ. I sense that CSC seems to keep some employees on the I-751s all the time, whereas VSC seems to process in batches and flexs staff to process apps of certain type for a period of time. This may be the result of upper echelon pressure or some other metric that they are being held to.

One thing at a time! Got to get this baby born before I take on any more USCIS business! LOL. Thanks for the suggestions though ;)

 ....I felt the same way too, when I was high-risk pregnant and was waiting for my baby to be born...

(which the baby almost never came to be...with all the stress and whatever else the USCIS had put me through that I-751 torture at that time..)

It was either get the valid card, or risk deportation with an expired card, flimsy extension letter, temporary stamp, having problems while travelling, and hoping that I wasn't going to get and rfe and be called in for an interview while I was in labour, and overall not knowing what happened to my case...(Do I stay or do I go...?) Scary, indeed!....

So yes, gettting a valid 10yr green card is important....And it shouldn't be worth the wait and hassle and high cost! Unfair, indeed!

And needless to say, it was pretty close time-wise....(see my detailed vj timeline for more info..)

USCIS 10yr Green Card=10 months, Ant's Baby=9 months...

Oh well, I'm almost done with the USCIS now...Can't wait to get rid of them when my N-400 is approved (hopefully by the end of this year..)

On the bright side, the N-400s files are going extra quickly...I guess I can take that as "compensation" of some sort...lol...

Good luck with your immigration journey too. Don't worry, you'll get through this..There is light at the end of the tunnel....:)
