Born in Toronto, raised in Oshawa. My parents were both born and raised there, and always talk about the 'good ole days' of Toronto...but now they hardly recognize it and it actually saddens them.

My mom lived near Coxwell and Danforth, and my dad was in the west end at Queen and Roncesvalle.

I loved going into the city to see my grandparents (when they lived there) or taking the train in and walking around Queen and Yonge.

Going to Skydome (I don't care that it's called Rogers Centre now, it will always be Skydome to me!)

Hearing my dad tell all these stories about different places (he was a postman in Toronto for many years before going out to Oshawa and Ajax).

In fact, he worked at Station A which became the Air Canada Centre.

Do I miss it? Sometimes, for the busy lifestyle. I live in a VERY small town in Northern Virginia called Berryville...or as I like to call it MAYBerryville. We have 1 Andy and 6 Barneys.

But, it give John and I plenty of opportunity to go out and see other parts of the area we live in and explore.

I went to school at Coxwell & Danforth area at Monarch Park Collegiate... and I worked one summer at the swimming pool there as a lifeguard.

When I moved back to Toronto at 16, I started out at Etobicoke School of the Arts but the commute from Woodbine was horrendous and I only did a year there so I switched to Monarch and took drama at Second City instead. Good times.

Really? I loved it there! It was like a breath of fresh air compared to the stuffiness at ESA, which may I add, was filled of some of the most pretentious people I had ever met in my life.

Monarch still holds many fond memories for me.

My mom and Aunt went there, still friends with some of her high school buddies.

She loved Monarch...my dad went to Parkdale.

They always remember one teacher who I guess it's been within the last 10 years, they found out to be a child molestor...I'll have to ask her what his name was!

She always points him out in her yearbook...said he was always kind of creepy.

So I just talked to my mom...

Teacher's name was Mr. Hobbes(sp?)

He was a Music Teacher.

I don't know if he would have still been teaching there when you went...my mom was at MP in the late 60s - early 70s

Yea I don't think he was there when I went - I went in the 90s.

Well that's good. I think finding out one of my teachers was a child molester would creep me right out.
