PLEASE HELP ME!

Ok, I am seriously panicking here. I have no idea what to do for the next step since I got my noa2. I've been hearing countless different things from ppl on here and its got me in a tither. Time is closing in on me and I need to know what to do. The guides are not giving me any help whatsoever and I'm about to have an anxiety attack. I need answers to two questions...

1) Do I need to get a security check? Do I wait for the consulate to instruct me to do this or do I go now and get it? I'm not even sure if I need to get one because I've heard I do need to get it and I've heard i don't need to get it.

2) I need a long form birth certificate right? Where do I go about ordering those as I understand it takes some time to get them through the mail?

ARGHHHH. PLEASE HELP ME GUYS. Everyone was so supportive when I was waiting for my NOA2 but I have found the answers are less than forth coming now. I thought things would be easier from here on in. I could probably step back and chill OUT but I really don't want to screw this process up!!!

Thanks

Sarah

Hey Sarah,

Your case will now go to the NVC then to the US Embassy in Canada.

You will then get a packet informing you of what you need to send back before they give you an interview date...

I believe you will need:

A police report and a birth certificate.

Those are the things that might take you some time to get although I don't know how it works in Canada. I believe your birth certificate has to have both of your parents names.

For your interview you will need proof of your ongoing relationship: emails, photos, plane tickets, phone bills etc.

You will also need the I-134 filled out by your fiance, notarized along with supporting documentation listed on the I-134. IF you need a co sponsor then they need to fill out and do all the same things for a separate I-134.

You should look at the Embassy Info and Embassy reviews to see what Canada requires.

Good luck I hope that helps a little,

Love Sarah

ok. firstly...take a deep breath....let it out. repeat 4x. ;)

for your long form birth certificate, go here http://www.cbs.gov.on.ca/mcbs/english/649QWH.htm

i ordered mine on a sunday afternoon and it was delivered to my house on the tuesday morning, so they've learned how to be efficient there.

for your police certificate, if you have a local RCMP office that will process one for you, go there. otherwise you can use a commissaires office. there is one in Barrie http://www.commissionaires-greatlakes.ca/

it's $25 (if i remember correctly) and takes approx. 1 week. these are good for 1yr according to the Montreal embassy.

hope this helps. i know how stressful this process is. my current stress is the packing-moving-movingmom-POE etc. etc.

take care

k

Here's the link for your birth certificate. The online option is very reliable. I was not home when they tried to deliver, but picked it up at the nearest purolator that evening.
