I am in the process of sending a request to expedite with my i-129f petition. i know it probably won't work but i'm going to send it anyway because my fiance is going through things that is making it unsafe for her to be where she is. her family is being mentally and physically abusive! however, what would be the proper way of doing this? i don't have a lot of proof other than her mother telling me sorry for the things that she did. (and this is right before they went and did them again and again!) what do i need to know?

You need to know this won't be approved.

If you are bent on filing, here is what you need to do. You need to prove that her life is in imminent danger. you need to prove how she is unable to fix the situation herself. You need to show why she cannot simply move to a safer area.

A letter from you saying "I've been told by her mother that...." is not sufficient since that is strictly hearsay evidence. You need a doctor's note (likely) showing deterioration of her mental state as a result of her situation at home. You need evidence of this 'abuse' - police reports, pictures taken in a hospital, records of treatment.

USCIS reserves humanitarian expedites from SERIOUS situations. Although I sympathize with your fiance and agree her situation is likely pretty terrible for her, USCIS is heartless and won't care that she is having troubles at home.

Good luck.

canadian_wife has given you some wise suggestions. I do agree however that although this situation is very difficult for you and your fiance; be prepared for a denial of the request.

I agree - very likely 101% chance your expedite request will fall on deaf ears.

Knowing this, you may want to take whatever other measures you can to ensure your future spouse is safe for the duration of your petition. (F)

Perhaps posting the location of your fiance on the Canada forum can get you some help in finding an apartment in a good neighbourhood for your fiance

Good luck

Will not be approved, you can try. Unless you are military personnel being deployed to combat areas, it will not work so I have no clue how to tell you things that WON'T work. I have no experience at it.

Since she is Canadian she could come to live with you on an extended visit while the petition processes. She would have to return at the end of her allowed stay or for her interview. Or you could help to get away from these influences in Canada...like rent her an apartment somewhere else.
