Hello VJ family.

We're going to Kings Dominion (amusement park) and then to a Wizards basketball game.

Congrats HeavenSent

Trying to catch up :reading:

Shemmy - we love the Wizards! They come to our town and play the teachers at the school. It is the best fun!!

Really - Damien loves them. My aunt gave us tickets...the seats are bad but that was nice of her.

We booked our room in ATL so let me know if you are coming down.

I know I haven't posted much lately so let me tell you what is going on in my world.

Things have been going pretty good at home with everyone getting along. Every now and then someones feelings get hurt because they aren't getting enough attention but it is a quick fix.

My step-son has been having problems adjusting to school and his school work. He is very far behind in his reading, writing and math skills which came to a shock to me. He is in 4th grade but reading at a 2nd grade level. The school he is in now tested his hearing and come to find out he has some hearing loss and is having problems hearing. He has said that it has been going on for at least a year and the loss is in both ears. His mother thought that there was nothing seriously wrong since he stopped complaining about it. :bonk: So we have a long road ahead of us with getting him caught up. He is getting extra help in school and we work with him as much as we can at home and he has a great attitude towards learning.

I was just shocked that his school doesn't do hearing tests like they do here...maybe some of the hearing loss could have been prevented if they did.

i wouldn't have been shocked at that.

Did you take him to the doctor? What is the cause for the hearing loss?

In regards to the reading, I would think that you would be his best resource in getting caught up....GO STEPMOM!!!

THANKS TO ALL THE YARDIES FOR YOUR PRAYER'S AND POSTIVE VIBES !!!

we went without the medical...we only just showed the receipt and the vaccination paper they gave him and he told them that the hospital said it's not ready so she was like OK ! ..they approved him without the medical..becuz after the interview we went to the hospital to find out whats what and it was still not ready...so the lady in the medical office was like they should have given him a blue slip to come back but they didnt...they just approved him! i didn't understand how or why all i could say is THANK YOU JESUS ! i'll post the full details in the review section..

Congrats Heaven!!!

Now I'm going to be the voice of reason.....sometimes one person at the embassy will do something (like approve without the medical even though the medical is an extremely important part of the process) but someone else down the line will catch up on it and it can hold up your visa until they get your completed medical. Hope for the best, but be prepared.

Thank You island..i was thinking about that..and thats probally whats gonna end up happening..i'm ot too sure ..but i rather be in the situation that having not been approved !!

She had on heels.. Real is soooooooooo dayum fione!

Real is just o.k. in the face to me I actually like Chance better. But Real’s hair man oh man. Whoo!!!! I would love to run my fingers through it. I think that is why I'm in love with one of the Steeler players Troy P (43) his hair is absolutely gorgeous!!! He has a Head and Shoulders commercial that just makes me.........

JQ I hear you on the sleepovers. My daughter just turned nine and I swear we have had 7 sleepovers. This year I put my foot down. I wasn’t in the mood for the kids but I think I’ll make it up to her next year by giving her a hotel sleepover.

We just found out on Monday Finesse so I have made an appointment with an audiologist. His teacher is great and is really helping out any way he can as well. He told me that he got sick in Jamaica with the flu or some type of sickness and his ears plugged up and never unplugged. So maybe if he gets tubes or something some of the hearing can come back. We will have to see what the doctor says.

Dillon;

OMG....honestly I just logged in to ask if he's ever been sick and his ears glogged up. I have a few family members that went through the same thing...sometimes the loss is temporary and as far as testing in the school all I can do is (SHAKE) my head. Some schools do it...but my aunts had to petition to have it done in our area. Not only hearing, but vision as well.

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore... and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.
