So I never got a Biometric appointment, and I even phoned them and told them that I hadnt received it yet. Well anyway today I received a letter telling me that my I-751 had been approved.

Well congratulations!!!

Somewhere else this quote is mentioned, and I would like to reiterate it since these unusual situations seem to pop every once in a while.

"USCIS works in mysterious ways"

I think this quote should go in history books and any other book that will remain throughout the coming generations... maybe even chiseled into some stone and placed in the Library of Congress ....

Hopefully you will be approved soon bradcanuck.

I have only just joined vj but I wanted to offer encouragement to all those who filed in October and who are still awaiting their approval. I sent off my I-751 application on October 14 (rec'd at CSC Oct. 15), received my noa Oct. 23, went for an early bio appointment on November 3rd, then got my card production ordered e-mail on December 1st. Today I was soooooooooo happy when I received my gc in the mail today. :dance::dance:

The end of the journey for me - but I send my best wishes to all of those who are still waiting.

I'm the same way....concerned. I had my bio the beginning of Nov. But I'm sure at some point we will get ours. (fingers crossed)

Oct 1/09 - I-751 package sent

Oct 3 - package delivered

Oct 5 - NOA mailed

Oct 13 - 1st NOA received and additional letters for my daughters I filed with. NOAs stated Resident Status

has been extended for 1 year and that we will be receiving a letter for an ASC appointment for

fingerprints, photo, and signature.

Dec 2009 - Received 10 year permanent resident card.

Feb 2010 - My children received their 10 year permanent resident cards.

Oct 2010 - My children were legally adopted by my USA Citizen husband.

Hey guys I have a question,

We just filed in Oct and had the biometrics in Nov but now I have to go back because apparently "the FBI was unable to process" the fingerprint card...

Did anyone encounter this situation before, does it happen often, what can it mean (other than delaying the process...)?

I have heard of this before.

It means that the prints obtained by the ASC at your biometrics appointment were not clear enough for the FBI to process. Therefore you have to go back to see if they can get clearer fingerprints.

From what I have heard they normally try two or three times (at different appointment dates) and if the prints still are not clear enough to do an FBI background check they request that you go and get a Police report covering the last 5 years that you then forward to them.

Hopefully though they will obtain good prints when you go back to the ASC, and you will be back on track...

Yay my new 10 year greencard arrived in the mail today. Good to see on the card it says it expires on 12/3/19, just seems such a long way off. Anyway 1 year from now I can apply for citizenship and I will then be finished with USCIS forever, which sounds like heaven right now.

One thing that puzzles me is that despite not having a biometric appointment I manage to have a photo and fingerprint on my greencard??????????

Does anyone from VSC have an update?

I am leaving the country in a week..I did the biometrics last month, so I hope my letter of "1 year extension" does not make any noise when I get back and I meet the DHS guy at the "port of entry".. in my case it will be ATL.

I'll let you know how it goes :)

Despite Pnuemonia, Bronchitis, and Sinusitis last month ( throw in a few random flu symptoms just for fun!) We received our NOA letter, Biometrics appointment letter, and completed the Biometrics on !2-2!

02/07/2011-USCIS online status update-

02/12/2011- Received Interview Letter Scheduled March 14

02/12/2011- Received Descheduled letter

02/17/2011- USCIS online Status update

02/22/2011-New IL arrived schedule for March 29

02/22/2011-Descheduled Letter Again ( 2nd Time)

02/23/2011- I called USCIS and I was told new schedule in the computer for March 22

02/23/2011-USCIS ONline update....

03/01/2011-Interview Letter for March 22 @ 7:15 AM

03/22/2011- Interview and Oath; US Citizen
