Passport/Immigration Photos

Hi all.

My fiance and I took our photos during my last visit a couple of weeks ago in New Jersey at a county passport office. I read that the photo must be taken within 30 days that the application is submitted. How can we show proof that it was? Can we just manually write the date that it was taken on the back? Is that valid enough, since anyone can just make it up.

Also, while I'm on the topic of the passport photos, what else should be written on the back? Our full names? Anything else?

Never heard nayone being asked for PROOF the pics were taken within 30 days - doesn't mean it never happened but I never seen it on here as a question. I guess if you look VASTLY different they might question it - so no getting a haircut until AFTER the visa interview!

I wrote my name and case # on the back of my pics in PENCIL, not pen, (which can smear and come off) and very lightly as well.

I guess the photos are for the I-129F, right? I don't remember what we did but we sent in fairly recent photos, and the place that took our pictures may or may not have stamped the back with a date. I really don't remember. But I think it's okay to send it in without a date unless they ask that in their instructions.

There isn't.. they just want it to look like you are now...

Mine were taken nd the photographer dated them and put his business stamp on them. I think what they want to see is that they look "recent" now haven said that, at no time did anyone ever ask when they were taken

We just wrote our names on the backs of our photos. My fiance's photos were actually more than 30 days old by the time he sent them to me, I organized the packet and mailed it.

I think they just want to be sure the photos are recent.

Yeah, they don't ask you to prove they were taken recently. I just wrote my name and the date they were taken on the back, in pencil.

Does it have to be in pencil? I went ahead and dated the back in pen. Sorry for being paranoid, but this whole process has me questioning every single thing.
