renewal of Passport in Washington DC

Hello just want to share to all of you whose planning to renew their passport in Dc that I just receive my new passport. I sent my application thru mail last month and received my new passport today.

Really? Is it the new MRP-Maroon color? I thought they won't accept applications by mail anymore?

Yes its the MRP. Sent my application last Aug. 18 and I received my new passport today. Actually before I send in my application I called the Consulate first to make sure and was told that just sent in my papers and they will decide wether I need personal appearance or not.

That's good news that they considered your application by mail... Congrats! It really sounds ridiculous that they would require personal appearance for all passport applicants cuz what if the applicant lives hundreds of miles away from the Philippine Consulate that will be a pain in the a$$!

Thanks! I ,lived miles and miles away from DC so it needs time and more money to get there just for fingerprints? Its ridiculous, anyway, I am happy I have it now. They also sent back the original documents to me which is great!
