Let me be the first to congratulate you, the wait was terrible, but now you're going to be moving faster. Best of Luck

And let me be the second. 126 days of jail time! You're free! Enjoy.

As Kabhatti says, it is sooo much faster now. I just called and got through to NVC (was too impatient to wait for my email to be answered). They confirmed they got my petition, gave me my new NVC case no. and said it would be sent on next few days.

I hope the rest of the October applicants get approved ASAP. Keep your fingers crossed friends, cuz i will be going to one of the toughest embassies (Guayaquil). Now gotta wait for the NVC people to act.

So my guy sends everything EXCEPT his checklist to the Embassy because he's still waiting on a couple of things.

Today they sent him an email with his interview date!

And they don't have the checklist yet? Makes me wonder just how closely they are looking at what we sent. As luck would have it, he also received everything else he was waiting for in today's mail, so he's sending the checklist off to the Embassy now.

Wow.

Anyway, wish us luck on 3/29!

Oh my goodness Miss Laura J - that's in just over 3 weeks. We want to be the first to know the GOOD NEWS on the day!

Mr Khabatti - we've not forgot your girl goes to her "grilling" this coming Monday! We'll be sending her our thoughts, we know that embassy isn't the easiest and you let us know as soon as you get the GOOD NEWS.

that_girl, aka the milk drinking soothe sayer - you sure make me chuckle too.

What would any of us do without VJ? Seriously, can't imagine what it must be like doing the journey without this online comfort blanket.

I agree Ms. D. A blessing indeed to get so much encouragement from those who truly understand.

Don't know about you all, but here people ask me all the time "so when is he going to be here?" Like it is so EASY to say "I think I'll move to the States", buy a plane ticket, and voila!

So thanks, everyone!

Thanks for the good wishes and while I'm thinking 100% positive, my girl's a bit nervous of her day in "court" The last two VJ members got their visa approved within 5 days of their interview in Islamabad. I asked her to call me with the results regardless of what time it may be here in the States. Pakistan is 10 hours ahead.

So it's been a month since we received packet 3 and still don't have everything that's needed to send it off. We had to move the wedding date back because there was no way that he could make it here in time. And...on top of that we're having to miss the concert since we don't want to risk him coming for a visit when he might not be able to come into the states while we're so close to having the visa. :P

Yeah 30 days from NOA2 to packet 3 ... so the 2-4 weeks means nothing, but then again timelines in this process seem to all be exaggerated to get our hope up lol

alot of the stuff you dont have to have to send the packet 3 back .... from what we understand all you have to send in is the forms, the other stuff just has to be done before your interview, i could be wrong tho we will see. I'm glad to hear your case is finally in motion again.

i had less trouble bringing her and my son here than any other crossing since we had our son, we didnt even get pulled into secondary customs. tho we did have our sons american passport, our entire immigration case with us, she hasnt been to the states in 14 months, we had plane tickets to validate her return, and i have ran into this particular boarder guard several times

So it's been a month since we received packet 3 and still don't have everything that's needed to send it off. We had to move the wedding date back because there was no way that he could make it here in time. Aw Bacon, sorry for that news. On the positive side, it gives your sis a bit more time for planning!

And there will be other concerts.

I hear September weddings are beautiful...

Keep your spirits up; it'll all work out in the end.
