marriage certificate for interview

Greetings,

My wife went to her local NSO yesterday and they still have no record of our marriage in August. They told her it sometimes takes up to a year for the NSO to get notice from the city halls that register the marriages.

We have the original and a certified copy from the city hall where we were married. Will the US Embassy accept the original marriage certificate as proof or do they only accept the certificate issued from the NSO?

anybody else have similar experience?

thanks

YOu can submit a copy of the original you got from the marriage. That is what I did. You can also have her go to the registor and have it expedited for a few pesos. We did that and it cost Php 200. NSO had it ready for us 6 weeks later.

we were married in august at a city hall in manila. they were really funny about our paperwork and wanted us to pay for certified copies of everything and kept making us come back the next day,,,etc.

so we suspect that they are holding it until we go there and bribe, i mean pay more fees, until they release it to NSO.

it was one of those situations were everyone had their hand out, i am sure you know what i mean. "mabuhay" fees !

I do not about the fees but it was worth that small amount. Most are only a few $'s and in your case which is moving right along you really do not want to wait months.

Ohh.. Yes the same here in our city.. u pay all xerox copy and certified tru copy.. be use to that LOL..

anyway.. the best thing u will do is.. PHOTOCOPY UR CERTIFIED MC AND THEN ur wife go to civil registry ask for ELECTRONIC ENDORSEMENT.. U WILL PAY 180 pesos.. then after 1 month. but it depends i don't know in manila how long it will take there electronic endorsement..

tell to ur wife, ask how long it will take the electronic endorsement.. that is the easy way to get ur MC authenticated my NSO.. coz if u wait them to forward ur papers it will take 6 months and 1 yr or soo.. u know here.. very SLOW SLOW..

god bless and good luck

for an Electronic Endorsment of your MC, you can get an NSO copy in as early as 2 months

for SOP of the local municipality, for example, in Mandaluyong - when we got married, the Judge told us that the LCR ofc. forwards MCs to NSO after 15 days.

I went to NSO after 3 months and was told that it takes at least 5 months before it would become available. So I waited 3 more months before I tried to get an NSO copy. I did get mine in 6 months after our marriage date.
