I received a email from Casa today stating that our Packet 3 has been mailed to my fiance, and we were given an interview date of December 7, 2009. I was hoping it would have been in the month of November, but glad to have a interview date regardless. I'm seeing light at the end of the tunnel now. I was given a list of document required to bring....

· Birth Certificate and English translation (Do you suppose copies are accepted? I have a copy of his translation from when I mailed in the original petition)

· Police Certificate and English translation

· Court Record and English translation

· Singlehood Certificate and English translation

· Original Marriage Certificate plus a copy and English translation if applicable (You suppose the mean mine, or his if applicable?)

· Original Divorce Certificate plus a copy and English translation if applicable (If they mean me, I'd rather keep my original copy, but what the heck... I'll send it, or do u think they meant him if applicable?)

· Death Certificate of previous(s) spouse and English translation if applicable

· Medical Record from one of our panel physicians, see attached list

· 2 Photos (5cmx5cm) white background

· $131 paid in cash at the consulate or at any BMCI bank.

· Form DS-230

· Form DS-156 x 2

· Form DS-156K

· DS-157

Please note that translations will be accepted from sworn translators only.

For security reasons and to minimize waiting time, visa applicants should not bring backpack or large handbags and must not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to their appointment times. Applicants must present their appointment letters in order to enter the Consulate and should bring only the necessary documents for their interview.

Now one thought... this packet orginally went to my fiance in Morocco... and I see they state to bring $131. paid in cash.. etc etc... not dirhams. Im having a blonde moment, so does he bring american dollars? or dirhams equivalant to $131.00????

Wow Im really relieved to see light at the end of the tunnel! Now maybe he can be here for Christmas!!

For the interview make copys of all the originals but bring the originals AND the copys and request the originals back. We did this and we got all our original documents back and they kept all the copys. They needed the originals at the interview to prove the validity of the document.

Another quick question...... As you see above, it was not requested that I supply the Affidavit of Support form, the I-134. However, on form DS-156K states "THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS MUST BE ATTACHED IN ORDER TO APPLY FOR A FIANCE(E) NONIMMIGRANT VISA"... and one of the requiring document state "Evidence of Financial Support". Would that mean I should include the I-134 form?

Also, it states "Evidence of Engaement to Your Fiance(e). Would be evidence of engagement. We had no engagement gathering per say... other that him proposing.. I dont know what to give for this.

Thanks for any assiatance anyone can give me. :-)

for evidence of engagement i just brought photos of us together like the ones i had originally sent in the I-129F tho they were from different times together as well as affidavits from people who witnessed the engagement. they didnt ask to see any of it but this was a different consulate they may ask to see it at yours.

Thanks so much for everyone quick replies... lol... I have another question..."On some of the forms that have to be submitted, it asks 'Was this application prepared by another person on your behalf?' Would it hurt his case any if I prepared the forms for him?

Man Im so excited about the upcoming interview I have given myself a headache with my excitement! lol :bonk:

Well, if he is fortunate to be approved on that day, I hope to bring him here the week after for the holidays. And that would be the best gift ever. I hate waiting that long, but soo relieved we can see the end of the tunnel!

Yeah... As I was typing that question I just knew what a mistake it was typing it, I knew I would get it from someone, somewhere.... As I am looking at the top of my screen 'as Im typing this' I see nothing that says 'VJ Guides'. I have a dang migraine now so please bear with me. If I could have been able to visually see it I would not have asked for a link.
