I'm really planning ahead here. I was looking through the sample interview letter on this site: http://travel.state.gov/pdf/supplements/MT...P-ENGL-0704.pdf and saw that they say: "If you have not already paid them to the National Visa Center, please bring the fees: USD $380.00 per person for immigrant visa processing. You may pay in U.S dollars or Canadian dollars according to the U.S. Government exchange rate in effect on the day of your interview. You may also pay this fee by major credit card."

I also read a review recently where she had to pay fees at the consulate in Montreal, but I think she was a K-1 so not sure if that is different then a CR-1....

So my question is, is this the IV fee bill they are referring to or another fee all together or nothing I need to worry about? :huh2::help:

Hi,

Where you pay it depends on where you filed. If you filed at the U.S. consulate in Canada, ie Direct Consular Filed - you will pay it the day of the interview.

If you sent your I-130 to USCIS in the U.S. - you will pay it at the NVC stage, before you submit your DS-230 to them.

K1 filers do pay a smaller fee on the day of their interview.
