Does anyone know the names of the CO's in Casa

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to help a friend whose husband received the all to infamous 221g after his interview last week. Of course, she is in the dark as to why her petition is being sent back. The CO claims her husband was missing an original birth certificate and their marriage license...all documents he had in hand, but apparently they didn't want it? :( He was interviewed by a man that spoke some Arabic. My friend would like to try to speak to this man directly. Does anyone happen to know the name of the CO's in Casa. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Christine :luv:

Sometimes a 221g means security checks and sometimes it means the petition is being sent back to the USCIS for review. Is it being sent back?

I am sorry I don't know the name of this man but I would reccomend calling Casa and asking about their case and I am sure that when they look it up the name of the interviewer would be in the file so maybe they can give it to your friend.

I would also reccomend that she call her congressmen, senator, and the Consulate to try to reverse this decision before it is sent back. This should be done ASAP. Others will be able to offer you better advice. Good luck to your friend.

Sarah,

After the interview, they told them that they sent everything back to USCIS BEFORE the interview because of a missing original birth certificate and marriage license. HELLO, why would NVC forward incomplete docs and schedule and interview? She even called NVC and the service center and they said Casa has it. It all sounds fishy to us.

She's contacted her senator and has emailed Casa, but I suggested she call them directly first thing Monday morning GMT before it does get sent back. Thanks for your help.

Yes, I agree this sounds fishy.

I don't see why the case would be forwarded to Casa if there were missing documents. She should definitely call Casa as soon as possible, maybe even at 8 am on Monday in Casa if possible for her to get through. There is one nice women there who has been very helpful for me when I have called in the past. Also she should contact the NVC to find out about this.

Good luck to her!

This so ridiculous!!!

Whoever this person is has to be playing games!!! I am so sick of this consulate!! How on earth can they send the file back BEFORE the interview! Now we know they do lie!

First of all, if the file was not complete, NVC writes the petitioner and informs them what is missing and either requests the missing documents and/or asks that the benificary bring them to the interview.

Another issue is since this is an immigrant petition, the CO should...get that...should inform the benificiary that some documents are missing and give the person an opportunuity to secure them.

Ok, ok here I am giving out instructions that the CO is to do...sorry. I am just a bit irritated by this lastest news.

The petitioner needs to send an e mail and call the consulate to see if any information can be gotten. I know this can be difficult, but getting it resolved before they really do send it back is the best way to go.

If it gets sent back it take up to and over a year to get resolved. Please stress this to the petitioner!!!!

I can tell you when one is going through this, shock sets in and the petitioner delays action and by the time they get over the shock it is to late. This is an urgent matter that needs remedy NOW.

Good luck and if you need any more info, there are many here who have had this happen and so far as I know, only one had the situation reversed and was issued a visa.

Thanks everyone,

The problem is that my friend does not have a clue as to why they are sending it back and on the 221g they have deferred her to NVC and the service center for further information about their case. She called NVC and of course everyone says Casa still has the file.

They did have an RFE for the documents in question --- NVC wanted certified copies or orginals -- which were sent and the case was subsequently forwarded to Casa. My friends husband had the originals on hand at the interview, but the CO didn't seem to want them? It seems he was only interested in their pictures. It's all confusing and I'm trying to keep her focused on the task at hand and to not just wait for the shock to subside when it's too late to take action. She does plan on calling Casa first thing in the morning their time. Hopefully, something positive will come out of their conversation. The real stinker is that she and I met our husbands at the same time and were married two months apart. The only difference is that my husband got his visa last year and she's still waiting. This sucks!!! At any rate, wish us luck.

Thanks again,

Christine :luv:

What your friend needs to do tomorrow then is to find someone (senator, congressman) who can call the Consulate that day to find out what is going on and to also call the NVC. She has to get everything straight with Casa before they actually do send it back.

Who has she talked to at Casa? One woman there who I have talked to is always nice and explains everything and will actually listen. I would be happy to call Casa if it would help as I seem to somehow get through everytime, in case your friend cannot.

I really hope she can get this all done tomorrow before they send it back to the US. None of this makes sense, obviouly they made a mistake but do not want to admit it. I'm so sorry for her. Good luck, let me know if I can help.
